Paul Huebler

Pauls "US OPEN" cue is among the best cues ever produced.

This comes from a guy that has owned about every cuemaker and I have always admired that cue. Frankly, it is inovative and truely a work of art.

Look at the lineup of cues I own, and would always have a place for one of them.

Kennedy33...Just FYI, Huebler (among other cuemakers) made some cues, commissioned by Clicks, to be given away as prizes for joining Click's pool leagues (there are 20+ Clicks across the southwest). Your blue cue was undoubtably one of the league giveaway cues...so it's not one of a kind.

He also gave a cue to the winner of ea Huebler Cup....

Thanks for the updates.

Another question and it's a hard one. Where can I get Huebler bumpers? I have searched everywhere and cannot find them. I only need 3. Thanks in advance!

Its my understanding that Huebler made all his own parts. That why original bumpers, nylon inserts are hard to find. When he retired, he still accepted repair work. Paul Huebler would be your best choice.

Rat Cues at Muellers, they may have some parts. You can also try Brianna, maybe they will make a run of Huebler repro bumpers.

Thanks for the updates.

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul back when I first started playing pool. A friend of mine Mountain Man (Eddie Hubble) was real close friends with him. I swear they were more like farther and son then friends. I wish him a quick recovery. He is a great man

For those on here that know me, I have been a fan of Huebler cues for about 30 years. I am from Missouri and occasionally get back. When I do I try to visit Paul. For a few months Paul has not answered his phone.
I learned last week that he is now in a nursing home and mostly in a wheel chair. If you do get to talk to him his memory of the past is still good. He may not remember you from yesterday.
For those of you interested in any of his equipment or inventory, I heard from Paul's attorney that no plans are made to liquidate at this time. I should know when this happens and will let you all know.

Some of you also know I have been buying wood and equipment to build cues for a few years. This probably will be at a retirees level unless it progresses and a demand is there. I had lengthy talks with Paul at his place of business and on the phone regarding the purchase of his place. He was adamant about not needing the money and that it all stays in the U.S. He is very aware of the value of his inventory. The volume of lumber alone is staggering. As much as I would like to see the Huebler tradition carried on it looks like a slim chance.

If anyone feels the need to speculate on the value of a Huebler Custom or production cue, I have been selling some of mine. I have a few left. Any cue sold buys me more materials or equipment. At this point I would rather invest in my future than wait to see what happens to cue values.
I personally think the Huebler cues have been selling very low and will some day greatly appreciate.
I bought a HUEBLER sneaky pete yrs ago and it was the best playing sneaky I ever owned. sorry to hear about Paul, sounds like a good guy.

I have a "Rifleman by Huebler". The cue is a (i think) rosewood 4pointer with veneers, have a stainless steel joint and a yellow micarta ferrule.

Can anyone tell me, when they were build?

Never saw a four point Rifleman, but if I had to guess I'd say it was made in the late 80's.

Aaron

Sorry to Hear. one of the best cue I have was a Huebler. Didn't Jean Balukas play with one or huebler made a Signature Series?

Yes, Jean played with the most beautiful heubler I ever saw and it hit like a dream. She also sold heubler exclusively in her poolroom.

Sorry to hear about his health. He has built cues for a long time and most everyone has played with or atleast seen his work. Again, sorry to hear this.

I don't know if you are still looking for Huebler bumpers, just in case I finally found them after extensively searching everywhere. For those of you still looking I found mine at Nielsen's Billiards you can call 217-585-1660 and speak to Kathy. Try them before hey are all out, this is a very hard item to find, as it goes they also had some cues by Huebler and were out of those when I called. I am of course assuming that all the bumpers were a standard size, if I am not correct about that please let me know. Thanks, and I hope this helps if you are looking for these bumpers.
