Pepsi bottles dozens of things, including water I'm pretty sure. I'm not a Pepsi drinker myself but I'm sure there are some of their products I can support. Anybody going to the US Open might make a point of checking the list and having a bottle or two of a product where they are sitting. Back when Winston was a big NASCAR sponsor nonsmokers sometimes bought a pack simply to have in their pocket or laying around to be seen, just letting Winston know their message was being heard.
The team I worked with supplied us all a pack of cigarettes to have in our pockets at NASCAR events. Smokers bummed a few off of me so it wasn't a total waste toting them. Main thing is that Winston rep's passing through the pits saw Winstons everywhere. Even if they realized we were just helping promote the product the message wasn't lost on them. I didn't encourage people to smoke but if they were gonna smoke anyway, support the people that supported us.
Hu
+1 here.......
The company I work for is a provider for many public entities. The majority of our products had our company logo stenciled on the containers for our product. After a few months, the logo would fade, so the marketing team at corporate determined that etching our logo into the containers (as well as the color logo inside the etching) worked much better. Even if/when the color logo fades, the etched logo isn't going anywhere.
People see the logo, and that's the whole idea of promoting the products.
I'm gonna jump on Hu's back for a second and suggest that if anyone has either a Pepsi promotional product (a can warmer, a hat, a t-shirt), or even anything with the primary Pepsi colors (red, white, and blue) to wear it or carry it with you anywhere in the event area.
Bear in mind that Pepsi also makes/manufactures (among other products) :
- Mountain Dew
- Sierra Mist
- Amp
- SOBE
- Doritos
- Tostitos
- Lay's Chips
- Sun Chips
- Cheetos
- Tropicana
- Quaker Rice Cakes
- Quaker Granola Bars
- Gatorade
- Propel Fit Water
- Aquafina
I'm not suggesting that anyone completely change thier eating or drinking habits and preferences to the above or any Pepsi product, just to be more conscious about the products they choose. If you don't have a preference to Coke or Pepsi, then lean towards a Pepsi product.
Anyone affiliated with the Pepsi company walking through the venue will see $$$$ every time they see anything remotely resembling a Pepsi product.
And they will want to put more money into promoting billiards
Can you imagine a 'bottlecap' contest tie-in to the Mosconi Cup or any other venu  ?
Now through November 23, collect bottlecaps from Pepsi products. Grand prize, an all expenses paid trip for four to the Mosconi Cup, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada*. All you have to do is collect the nine bottlecaps, 1 through 9, to form the "nine-ball" rack, and YOU WIN !!!!!
*The same type of contest for a trip to Malta, depending on who has the cup that year.
The cost of an all expenses paid trip for four to Vegas or Malta would be a drop in the bucket compared to the sales a contest like that would generate.
This appears to be a unique, ground floor opportunity for billiards today. Let's do whatever we can to help obtain a nationwide sponsor make mainstream billiards bigger than it's ever been.
