pfd cues

IMHO Paul makes a great cue. The one I have plays and looks fantastic...hits solid, has great feedback, and always gets comments from people at the poolroom. A few of the better players that have shot with it feel the same way. It is as good a "playing cue" as any I have owned over the years.

I've also had the pleasure of talking with Mr. Drexler on the phone a couple of years ago...He took about 45 minutes out of his day to chew the fat with me, and was a pleasure talking to.

He is capable of doing just about whatever you can dream up when it comes to cue design...a true artist in that arena...
The only PFD's that I don't care for are the ones with rounded points...but those are usually older and lower level cues...but that's just from an aesthetic point of view...

One of the most creative and innovative cuemakers out there.

I find his cues all play very consistently. His work is excellent and seem to hold value pretty well.

I recommend him and his cues.

Little off topic but about a month to month and a half ago I played poker at a buddies house with Paul's nephew Pete. We were talking about pool a bit and he asked if we have heard of Paul Drexler to which of course I said yeah, makes nice looking cues....he said yeah he's my uncle lol. Small world!

I asked the same question a month or so ago, very nice guy great communication, he's making my cue as we speak.

My second favorite cue is a PFD. I will sometimes take it out and leave the Lambros in the rack, it plays that well.

I was shopping for a cuemaker earlier this year to make my first custom. I ended up choosing Paul based on his reputation and his trade up option. Paul is a great guy to work with, very friendly and knowledgeable. He also completed my cue in a very quick time frame at a reasonable price for a hall of fame cuemaker. I don't have my cue yet as I am about to move to Denver and don't have an address yet so I can't speak to playability (subjective anyway) but if you look at some examples of his work you'll see he can make you whatever you want. Can't go wrong with a PFD IMO.

Well based on that it is state law that you have to post pictures when you get it....:D

Paul's cues play great, I've had a couple in my hands. The last one I had very nearly almost took the place of my beloved Bobby Hunter as my main player. ;)

I had a pleasure of visiting Mr. Drexler at his shop. Very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with cue maker. But what I love about the most is communication. You do not have to wait for days or in some cases weeks for reply. Paul will call/email you within hours. He does fantastic work, and he does it in record time frames. I gave him a cue to refinish. He had it done in 2 days. And not because he is not busy. Paul is using state of the art technology to do the work. For the first time I saw UV ROOM to dry the finish. His shop looks like a really high tech place. Amazing.
plus, while at work he gives you so much useful and interesting info, you do not know if you want to watch him work or listen carefully to what he says.
It took him only 20 minutes(not kidding) to replace 2 ferrules and install new tips on those. And I could play with those shafts right there and then, did not have to wait hours for glue to dry etc.
Paul is a top notch cue maker. I would highly recommend him.

Whats with the bumping, you already got a bunch of info from owners and fans. If you're still not sure after the posts, don't go to him for a cue.

If you really need your hand held for this (people that keep looking for info after getting many replies usually just need someone to walk them over to what they want to buy), I have heard almost 100% good things about his cues and Paul himself.

I played with several of the cues and they were not in my top player list but that was probably due to the ivory joints on the cues I played with, I am not a fan of the feel of ivory joints/ferrules. He's a nice guy and was over for a fundraiser tournament for the Jr league in my pool room with some of his cues. All the kids kept asking him how much they were hehe.

I chose Paul to make the cue I designed; it's one of the true highlights of my 60 years around pool. I frankly doubt there's anybody better. GF

Great Reference

You will find it difficult to get a better referral than this, from a great player who chooses his equipment well and carefully, and also is one of the world's most knowledgeable pool world people.

I will second the motion that Paul Drexler is a stellar cue designer who makes great playing cues and has a great following of satisfied customers. A great eye for design, wonderful with exotic woods, and crafter of great playing cues.

There is no doubt that paul makes a high quality product. One thing for sure is most people in the industry have a lot of respect for Paul.
