Phillipine event cancelled

It's no surprise, not the first time. Won't be the last. World Class Hustlers on every level. It's the "rare" Pinoy individual that has international business sense It's like "hens teeth".

They only think about "today". No concept about what sort of business sense it makes for the future of one's company, and they are taught that from a young age.

And by the way, they just might be the rudest people on the face of the planet when you live amongst them...see "their true colors".

I've spent a lot of time over there and I find the filipinos to be accommodating and easy people to get along with. Go in any store or business and you will be treated with utmost respect by everyone you may encounter. I was put off at first by being called SIR everywhere I went but it's their way of showing you respect. I no longer even ask them to call me Jay because they won't do it. I am Sir and that's it. Or better yet, even Sir Jay. I've been called a lot worse in my life!

I've had so many good experiences over there that your comments just amaze me. I was having trouble getting a cab to the airport and I asked policeman where the best place to stand was. He took my bag in his hand and walked out into traffic and stopped a cab for me. He made sure the driver knew where to go, helped me get in with my bag and closed the door for me. He refused a tip! This is an every day occurrence over there, people going out of their way to help you.

I'm not sure what you do to create a different experience but I'm sorry that's how you feel. Yes I've had some minor problems over there with being over charged on my hotel bill and getting scammed at a money exchange. But both times I came out on top and it was truly minor compared to the things I deal with here on a regular basis. Dealing with contractors in Los Angeles can be a harrowing experience.

Lee my man, you're invited ANYTIME!

Thanks Jay, i will be moving to California to coach soon, my book is being taught in 5 colleges, so going to teach for worldppa and the college stuff. So have to come see you once i'm there.

The truth is in the pudd'n darl'n.

The worst leader's, ever to rule the PI were Elected Pinoys. MacArthur is arguably, and strongly...the best leader the RP has ever seen.

Let the Pinoy's run it...look at what happens. Abject poverty, TOTAL CORRUPTION. The history is there. No divorce, the Catholic church won't allow it.

You have a country of 83 million, largely uneducated, reproduce like rabbits in the Provence....

I know what it's like...I support my 17 year old sister in law...got pregnant and had a baby by her boyfriend...A Pinoy Azkal. No job, not looking for a job..doesn't give a shit.

You know how it is...it's in every barangay. diba?

Pangit, no wonder you are so bitter. You are supporting your sister-in-law's boyfriend! Ha! Sucker!

You have to live in the Philippines and you hate it AND you hate Filipinos, What a great life you have! If you drink more alcohol you will forget about it AND your posts will be even more interesting and relavent!

Tell Shane that he should make a long stop in Japan on his way back and play challenge matches to recover some of his costs.

...Shane has way more than $2100 invested here. His investment is in himself.Mental and physical preparation to be the best.Opportunity gone!....

How do you figure that a change in plans will affect the skill set he has developed?

His skills are in no way impacted by the lost opportunity. Just coz you lost your shoes doesn't mean you forgot how to tie laces. Just coz some scum stole your bike duesn't mean you forgot how to ride one. Just coz ytour fork is dirty doesn't mean you forgot how to eat. Just coz your car's broken doesn't mean you forget how to drive.

Who's got sommmore?

Hmmm, thats pretty sad. I work at a hospital with lots of Filipino nurses and support staff.

I find them to be some of the most friendliest people I have ever met.
If you show some interest in their language, they will all gather around and try and help. I have never heard one of them complain about anything.

Most of the guys are interested in pool and it doesn't take much to coax any of them out for a night at the hall.

I find it funny as I am married but many of the guys and women too are more than willing to set you up with one of their relations in the PI.
I know where that one is going but you can't fault them for trying.
If I was single, I would take em up on it in a heart beat.

I think the Filipino women are loyal and not just looking for a way over here. The couple of guys that I know that married PI women are still happily married.

Myself, I would have no problem retiring to the PI. After watching the vid, I almost wish I had seen it a few years earlier.
