Phoenix Open - August 18-22

Kledio Kaci should never get on the TV table if there is no shot clock
He can't ever be slower than Eklent, so that's at least a positive. Played that last few racks at a decent speed. Though I feel that might have had something to do with Tyler realizing he was bested.

Been watching Phoenix. First a general comment. This is basically a glorified pool room tournament and they've atttacted a world class field. That said there are more good players than ever before. All these guys know their way around the table, and that's why we see so many upsets.

They all still do hang up a ball on these tight pockets but the majority of errors I see are tactical in nature. Poorly thought out safeties and a lot of these guys have trouble with the push shot. I see them occassionally playing safe when they shoot be shooting and vice versa. What really surprises me is when someone pounds a hard shot and of course the pocket spits it out. That's a high speed choke!

DeLuna is playing the best he has in over two years. He's got himself back in shape. The kid Roberts played good against Johnny. Johnny acquitted himself well too. I've always liked Chung's game. Not one to be taken lightly.

This should be a rip roaring U.S. Open with all this talent here.
