Yup, you're right. That's her coach and manager from Taiwan.
She's really popular in China. She was there for Kang Hom, they were the ones that had her there for all 3 days.

Yes, Sherman is from Taiwan but has lived in Shanghai for a long time. He is an investor and manager of one of the largest pool rooms in Shanghai and a helluva player too.

No, am in Thailand right now. Business may take me back to Shanghai in the next few months. I'll let you know

The pool table with cowboy boot legs is very cool!!!!

In the picture of the 2 tables stacked,,,,the table on the bottom is the same as my table. I don't think it's a good idea to stack them like that. lol

There are a lot of cool tables there. In the USA, it seems the 9'ers are dominated by Brunswick, Diamond and a bit behind that might be Olhausen.

I wonder how so many different manufacturers there can be profitable if there's as much competition as it appears from these pic's.

Nice work Jive, thanks for taking the time to load them all!

Great photo's Jive, thank you. It looks like fun. Rod.

Thanks and you're welcome! The expo was cool, it was the catching with friends from all over china that was fun..and the drinking afterwards was the main event! Heh

I believe the cowboy boots table is an Olhausen.
I'm curious about the stacked table too...not sure if they were trying to prove something or that they didn't do proper space planning and ended up with an extra table with no space..

There are only 3 types of tables in the Chinese market, Snooker, Chinese Pool (Mini Pool) and 9ft American pool table. We don't have bar box, 7 or 8 footers. At least not common at all unless someone imports them from overseas on their own.

There are tonnes of table manufacturers here and they all do pretty alright for themselves as china is a huge and growing market. There's two king of the hills for Chinese pool table but it's still anyone's game when it comes to regular pool table as I haven't seen any one brand coming up on top definitively.

I'm really hoping for Diamond tables to come in quick...if they can find a way to localized their tables here I'm sure they'd have a huge market with their solid reputation.

Great Job Jive.
Way cool seeing what is going on in your home land.

So what did you buy?
MMike

Hey Mike,

There wasn't anything much to buy cos there wasn't many custom cues there, just two booths having custom cues and one of them's my buddy's booth. I bought a bunch of accessories like invisible rack (for 8,9 & 10 table you just paste them onto the table and its real cool), ball cleaning wax, some spray on for table cloths that prevents static and makes the cloth water proof, cue extension...can't remember all of them but you get the drift.. Oh and I got a McDermott cue with i2 shaft for cheap too...my only production cue now hahah, but it was a heck of a deal so I bought one to poke around with.

What an expo should look like

After coming back from SBE I would say that this event in China was set up in proper and professional manner. Thanks for the pictures.

Wow! I wouldn't know where to look first. (well probably at the girls) but then I wouldn't know where to look after that. It's sort of like what i imagined heaven would look like.

No doubt it is, if there's one thing the Chinese are good at its making a show grand. The '08 Olympics was a clear indication.

Nice pic, i wish i can be there too
can i ask question Mr Jive is Zeus cues is american made cue ?
Thanks for pic :)

Its an American company but ain't too sure about where its produce. They're very well built though, veneers and points are well built and sharp. Inlays are generally sharp too.
