" A Pocket Apiece "

There are many good thoughts in this thread, but how would you use that pool term in conversation that is non pool related.

The guy holding up the bag of nuts was classic. "I got the nuts!", lol

How about........

telling the waitress that her service gives that last guy's the 7. Unless she plays pool you are getting a blank stare. :D

or

the cafeteria server gives you a "little extra" after a nice comment and you turn to your friend and say, "I played shape for that". Unless she plays pool you are getting the stare. :D

You get the idea. Pool terms used in everyday life that only pool players recognize.

At Waffle House I tried to give the waitress a Moori and told her it's a $20 tip. She didn't think it was funny but the boys with me after the score busted up laughing.

Knocking a game always been to me, if there was a game made and someone went up to 1 of the players before they started and simply said hey what r u doing u cant beat him,u r n a bad game,of course this can happen while the game is being played too,i dont care what anybody says,if 1 of my friends are in a bad game and i just so happen to walk in the pool room and i see whats going on,i will knock that game rite away, iam not going to sit there n watch my friend get robbed, now if i tell my friend he cant win n he still wants to play(which happens alot)then thats his bad!

Knocking can happen anytime, beforem during or after the game. If it's done to save a friend then it's a noble knock but a knock just the same.

One time I was in a game with a guy and beating him real good and my friend came in and saw me playing and before he asked me what they score was he says to me, "why are you playing him, you've go no chance". I said well he doesn't know that because I am up $600 playing 50 on the 5 and 100 on the 9.....

And one time I was going to play a real good player some $100 one hole and another real good player knocked it because he wanted to play me instead. I said to the knocker, if you think I am in a bad game then how about we bet on the side?......no bet. Then after I won three games at $300 a game I played the knocker and snapped off another $200 getting a little weight.

Which brings up another saying that I use in life that non-pool people don't understand, when a deal goes bad because of some reason, usually a third party's interjection, I almost always say that so-and-so knocked it. My wife knows what it means now.
