I am sorry, but this whole discussion about getting the cue before you pay for it is totally idiotic.

Do you get books, CDs, merchandise, etc from Amazon before you pay for them?

Do you get won auctions from sellers on Ebay before you pay for them?

Do you get merchandise from: Oldnavy.com, SportsAuthority.com, Mueller-Sporting-Goods.com, VictoriasSecret.com, jcpenney.com, (shall I go on?) without paying for them?

So what if you get scammed? That's why you pay by credit card, and you get the charge revoked if he does not send it, or if the merchandise is nothing like you ordered.

You have absolutely no right to ask that anybody send you anything before you pay for it. You're an idiot for even thinking you do. It would be business suicide.

There are consumer protections already in place to protect you from getting ripped off in these kind of transactions.

If you want to inspect a cue before you buy it then you should be willing to travel to the location of the cue. Do you really expect a seller to send a cue to a stranger so he can look at it, then package it back up and send it back through the postal system? That's ridiculous.

hey Hal

if i put a cue in here for sell & let just said, you're the buyer & you suppose to send me $5000-$6000 for the cue by looking at the pic's i post in here. would you want to check the cue first ?
as for you saying i should be willing to travel to the location to inspect the cue ? well, yes i do. I'll never give away $5k-10k to personal sale unless i have to inspected first. traveling to the location to inspecting the cue is not a problem cause i travel 3 weeks out of the month to everywhere in the U.S.A & other country too.
if you HAVE ANY cue i like that are for sale & believe me, where ever you live or state i'll be pasting by.

So let me get this straight... (Chuckle) You are saying.. As long as they are a reputable dealer.. You will send them $1000 or so for a cue, and (chuckle) "trust" them?

But...(Ha ha) If they are a "personal" seller...(Hee hee) Which means they are not in business, and probably know you no better than you know them, you somehow (guffaw) expect them to send you a $1000 cue?

And, pray tell.. Once they send you this cue, if you happened to be a hypothetical "bad person".... What on earth provides them any protection?

What? The fact that you post to a message board regularly?

Are you that dense?

They might have a profit margin or $200 on a $1000 cue, depending on materials. If they get JUST ONE stolen from them, they have to sell FIVE more to BREAK EVEN.

And quite frankly, yes, there are quite a few people on here that offer credit card and paypal payments. I just bought a $600.00 cue off one this morning. Both credit card and paypal allow you reimbursement if you are ripped off.

I would NEVER pay for anything online with a personal seller with check or money order. Once they are cashed, that money is gone. I absolutely do not bid on Ebay auctions that don't take CC or Paypal. Good luck trying to get your money back from the bank, and the money order is as good as cash.

I STILL say you are an idiot.

It's called mail order. That's how it works. You have to pay first. That's how Amazon.com does it. That's how Home Shopping Network does it. That's how Ebay does it. It you want to buy something from the Internet or through the mail you must pay first. To answer your question, Yes if I wanted the $5,000 or $6,000 cue, I would expect to have to send you the money first.

Shipping overseas

The best way to send a cue overseas is US postal service Express EMS, I got a cue to japan in like 2-3 days, it costs about 35-50 bucks but its actually shipped fedex air. And always insure the cue for full value unless the person receiving the cue does not want you to, always ask them first and let them take the hit, its worth it always to overinsure, than underinsure especially overseas.

Ah yes.....that brings up another question. How do you handle it when you sell a cue to an overseas buyer who then says "Oh, on the Customs form, be sure to declare it as a used cue with a value of less than $100 so I don't get stuck paying tax." Where does the risk lie when you do that for a $1000+ cue? You certainly can't insure it for more than the declared value.
