hi,

i was at barry's when the cues where sent to him.. i helped him take all the cues out and lay them out on his table... not wanting to step on any toes, i thought i'd check if the owner of the cues would like to see those photos posted up .. there are 3 shots.. one with barry and the cues, one with only the cues and one with me, barry and the cues...

lemme know...

merry x'mas to one and all...

As has already been stated... I love the fact these cues get played with. Yes, they are art by any standards... but art with a purpose. Szams make me happy :) Thanks for sharing.

That is an awesome line up of cues.
Every single one of them has a unique appearance and is worthy to be in your collection.
Glad to know that the Tribute to Dad cue is in your possession. That is a very nice looking cue.

Keep up the great work collecting and hopefully some of your personal issues are being resolved so that playing the game is much more enjoyable.

Eric, what an awesome collection....and great representation all the way around of Barry's work. Been some time since I have seen a few of these and enjoy seeing them resurface. Glad you have them. Merry Christmas. :)

PS - do you know if that's the only cue Barry's done pink ivory in (the razor blade windows) ??

Wow!!!

Now that's a collection. I'm glad you play with them all. They deserve it. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Louisville.

Fattie I am actually glad to hear you say that........ It really disappoints me to see a damn great playing cue be stored in a case in the deepest closest........Never to be played with.....

Curious...... ANy one of them goin to be played with at DCC?

yes 5th from the right will most likely be the cue I use at the Derby, I use it the most, but i'm with you locking them away is a waste of cues, i take out some every day while om working and look at them while i'm on the phone-I wouldnt "take" them away form everyone and horde them away, i let most anyone hit balls with most of my cues, B players or better and 90% of the cues get used, really only the "tuibute cue" dosnt get used however its out of the case all the time

i'll have to do whats in my case things sometime

thanks for all the nice words. I know whats there and thats why I wasntd to post the pics and not hide them, I will be homeless and cold before I sell anyone of them, even when I filed BK 11 years ago I kept my cues, It awalys hurts me to see someone sell their cue when times get tough-provided they love it. I will get the Gus Cues out soon, And no its not a collection like this, but to me Gus or Barry its the same. I'm going to Wear a Szamboti Cues patch on my shirt in the DCC ring game. I gotta play good now.

i think he said he did 3 of them, we talk from time to time and I take notes,

Funny thing I looked at those pics just a few minutes ago-from a iPhone and that collection makes my heart go pitter patter, wow I cant believe its mine, I have a couple cars that I have had for years and I still cant believe they are mine, same goes for my girl, other than crippling back pain I'm one lucky SOB, my mom wasnt a B thats an expression she was cool about, I lost her almost 3 years ago-my best friend ever, she would go to DCC and sweat it out without sleeping the whole time, I took her on 2 safaris in Africa she was amazing. She meant the world to me. All these cues, cars are wonderful but for me nothing is more important than mom. Geraldine Davis 2-15-27 to march 2005. God rest her sole or soul, she knew I cant spell. love you mom.

I'm glad you're using one in the ring game.

Now - if there is one you don't get enough play time with, send it to me. I'll get it warmed back up for you.

So that's where my cues are!!! JK:D
My Szamboti collection is pretty plain in comparison but it's true what Fatboy said, after meeting and talking with Barry I felt totally guilty for not playing with any of the cues and I've been playing with a plain 4 pt Gus for a while now.

Congratulations on amassing such a nice collection.

Paul

Incredible Collection of Cues

Fatboy,
Your collection of Szambotis is stunning. Barry's work speaks for itself in his pride in what he does and how well he does it. Seeing them together like this is very special. Thanks for sharing and good luck at the DCC.

Awsome collection Fatboy. I can see now why you need a spreadsheet to inventory your collection. If you need help setting something up let me know.

I like the ebony on ebony ....wow

Can we see some more pics on that one.

It is by far the jewel in the bunch. (At least for me)

Very nice.
