Me not has pictoores but it can be done. One of the League players is a body man.

He came over and used my lathe to sand the finish on a Muecci, IIRC.

He then did a simple pinstripe job and cleared over it.

Not as intricate as in your pic but looked nice just the same.

Are you going to try the pin stripe yourself or have someone do it?

Still have to try and apply enuff finish over the stripes.

Could always think about air brush as well. Prolly more esspensive but much easier to clear over.

Shop around and see who can do a bit of air brushing for you at a decent price.

As an example, one player in town is an artist. He likes to do billiard pictures and uses an auto body pin stripe air brush. If you find someone like that, it can be more reasonable in cost.

Then the only limit is your imagination and the painters ability.

One of the makers that hang out in the Ask the Cue Maker Forum did a bunch of commemorative History and War cues. As usual, I can't think of his name which is totally stupid now.

He had an artist do the work for him.

If you are interested, I imagine that he wouldn't mind showing you some pics. They are quite amazing.

I am still working on a Native theme cue for a guy. There is a Native artist in town that will do the art work. he can do an 8 ball and paint a white number 8 so small, you can barely see it.

The cue will have some eagle feathers and arrow heads on it.

I've wondered about this too...except less intricate..with maybe cnc cut continuous inlay pocket lines cut into the forearm..with a pourable colored epoxy used as the inlay material.

Anyone seen this done? In a simpler Pin-striping design on a cue?

Colored epoxy in inlays would look pretty good me thinks.

I have always loved the Pearlescent inlays on Vikings and a few others. Too bad you couldn't get Pearlescent tints like that.

Not disputing your idea but, I would hope that the epoxy wouldn't pop at some point. Or shrink and leave visible gaps under the finish.
And that is a definite possibility. Altho, with a little experimentation, anything is possible. I guess that with a decent amount of clear over top, that would help or do the trick.

So far, builders use a furniture tint powder mixed with epoxy. Available in Black, White and at least one if not several shades of brown.

Design Pending...

Well I've contacted a local artist, and we discussed it a little. I do like the airbrush concept, it's right up my alley but for now I want to see how this turns out, so I'm going to stick with the pinstripe. I gave him a fairly plan Players cue I had, and just wanted a few accents added, he has creative control on the project. Guess we'll see how it all goes!

I'll post pictures when I get it back.

I like to gamble by the game....
....I hate gambling with people that have pin striping on their cues....
....they always wanna race to something....

:)

Better to gamble with guys that have pin striping on their cues rather than their suits.

Yep, some after pics would be nice.
