Pinegar shoots a .955 and beats Jayson Shaw 9-0 in 9-ball. Shaw didn't pocket a ball and shot .000. To be fair, Shaw did spot Pinegar all the rolls.

Jonathon played great... got the rolls and a 9 on the break in the final game. What ya gonna do?? lol

I saw the match, Shaw didn't get one shot, and Jonathon played great but truth to be said he had all the rolls too which loosen his arm even more, which is exactly what pool is all about. you can win 9-0 to a guy, the next time you play him you can lose 0-9.

Thats how Pool is set to be, which is exactly why pool isnt that much popular in my opinion, Its not always the better player that wins, winner is mostly decided by the pool gods.

This is not at all how I would have thought that match would have gone, even with some lucky rolls. I'm sure people bet the other way AND gave odds or games.

Really? That's how it is? Damn those "pool gods" must have a total hard on for SVB then huh?

I always had the crazy idea that the guy that played better *that match* wins, independent of any "pool gods".

I watched the match and Henny just flat out ran over Shaw. The opening break scratch by Shaw set the tone. Henny ran out that game followed up by 2 brak and runs in a row. 4th game Henny broke dry but after a series of safties, John got an opening and ran out agian. He was consistently making balls on the break and running out after that. Then makes it on the snap on the hill game...awesome playing by Henny

This is not true 50% of the time, unless for long sets I'd say. most cases you need to play good and get the rolls, sometimes you play better than your opponent and lose, specially on high-tier play.

Not true. The player who plays better "typically" wins, its not just based on the perceived "better" player.

The rolls can play a part of course, but that is to be expected.
