Places to play pool in Rome?

I"ll talk food....

Youz is killin' me!

And we haven't started talking food yet!

I went to a restaurant in Rome and ordered and Calzone and asked for some bread with vinegar and oil.....

Big Mistake....

The waiter says no problem, then 15 minutes later he comes back over and I asked if he could bring me my bread and oil and vinegar, he again says no problem.

Fifteen minutes more and I ask him again. This time he brings over the manager and the manager says "This is a risotrante, not a pizzeria!!!!"

Then he brings me my bread and oil and vinegar.

I guess the morale is, don't order two bread items in Rome unless you're in a pizzeria lol.....

Man, Chris, I love the Amalfia coast...... Paestum is a good visit too.....

I haven't been there - just looked it up and sorry I missed it actually. I saw the Greek ruins in Agrigento, Sicily and enjoyed that.

I can smell the food - nice shot of you at Trevi fountain, Gunzby.

In Los Angeles, we really don't have the superior Italian food - you can look and look and not find the quality of food even average places in Italy have. The missing ingredient is "taste"!!

I make my own pizza's and come pretty close to the Roman style - but not quite.

I really like the part you live in. On one trip we went to the Lakes and Lugano, then we went to Verona, Soave, Vicenza, and Venice.l We had a great time.

I had a Fiat Punto and the BMW's and Mercedes were driving by me at 170 kph on the autostrada and the poor little Fiat was going 120 and couldn't go faster!I love Italy. It's the only place oin the world where you can go 170 kph, pull over and have a cocktail, and go 170 kph again without ever even leaving the autostrada!

Does anyone have any recommendations for places my wife and I could play in Rome, Italy?

I have been there a few times and I didn't see any pool tables. They play a game called Billardo (sp?). The table is like a snooker with rounded corners and pool balls and they play mostly a form of 8-ball. I was staying in a place a few nights above a gambling house. $6.00 American dollars a night and it included dinner. We spent the night hanging out in the gambling hall. I don't think women ever come in there because they didn't know what to make of my wife. She just fit right in gambling and playing Billardo beating most of the local players. It was a lot of fun and I never felt like we were in any danger even though it was obviously a Mafia place. I told them my family name and we were from Naples. The name is actually a pretty common name there. In fact we were invited to stay at people homes. We spent like 2 weeks there but had to get back to Germany.

I never made any money in Italy or France, England or most any European country other then Germany. Germany was like stealing, they bet it up and never quit till till they were broke. That all changed though pretty quickly. After a bunch of American players like Jimmy Reid, Dave Matlock, Toby Sweet and a few more got finished they would not play any Americans. The third time I went there I made almost nothing and they learned to ask for spots and when to quit.

My wife and I are on the train from Venice to Rome as I type. We hit Rome, Amalfi, Positano, Pompeii (unreal), Florence, Pisa, San Gimignago, Siena, Cinque Terre, and Venice. Cinque Terra was by far our favorite. Overall, Italy was awesome. The food, the wine, the sites and the people are the nuts! Some pics of Cinque Terre:
