That's a nice SW.........Myself, not a big fan of the Ostrich for the way it feels but the color compliments the "eyes".

OK, Mr. Barenbrugge, now that you've seen a bunch of plain BEM cues, how about you building one for me?

thanks,i wanted leather on my gilbert cue but when i saw this piece i knew it was perfect for my southwest.

My 1st 3 cues I built BEM and curly

Here are the first three cues I built so I could get the hang of tapers, tenons, concentricity, and finish work. Lots of fun actually. All white is ivory. I tried to get active color variances with wood choices.

Here's a Schuler... I know, it's got a couple of floating points (and why, I don't have a clue), but I just wanted to show the birdseyes...

Looks like one single piece[29"] of bird?

Which is more desireable? The big birdeyes or the smaller ones? Is it just a matter of preference?

I'm a big fan of a million smaller ones, myself.

It is personal preference I think....at least to the cue buyers (not so sure about the cuemaker point of view).

I think a BEM cue with a ton of little birdseyes in it looks SWEET!!

i am with 8-ballrat, i like the small ones better, but i believe the big eyes are more desirable.i think when buying wood the wood is worth more with large eyes, give that the amount of eyes is the same.
