I'm glad we have a full field of 64 players. Hoping next year will attract more, and be bigger.

player list

Thanks for the list. Sure wish we would be able to see some of the matches.Growing up in NJ and the same age as Ray martin and also watching Alan Hopkins play when he was young ,it would give me great pleasure to watch ( on a stream of some kind)I live in NC (wilmington) and still play this classic game.Only a couple of players to play with.(2 really) most of the others have never played or worse yet ,never heard of the game. And if there is no free stream how can we get younger players to play. what i would enjoy is to watch the matches between old school players (Martin,Hoppy, etc) and the youg guns of the USA & Europe.Maybe Charlie will help with this.

taking a quick look at the list, 95% of players represent the USA. That's sad the event is not that international. Hopefully it will attract more players from Europe and Asia next years.

Just some random thoughts

With the economy the way it is it is doubtful that anyone from Asia could attend an event like this. Right now costs for transpo and housing would be around 5K alone much less food and gifts. And if you know anything about Asian culture gifts for friends and family back home are right up there on the priority list.
Unless there can be multiple scheduled events in a small travel area and time frame its just not feasible. I hope that some kind of government sponsorship can make a difference. Like foreign countries do with their Olympic athletes. One good idea is with what a small website did for the 2011 US Open One Pocket event in Las Vegas. And that was to sponsor John Brumback in the field. Cheers to Onepocket.org!!!!
To further 14.1 interest here maybe a website like this can sponsor an American overseas with a sister Euro/Asia website if they can send one of their talents here.

Inside Pool will provide online streaming. Here is their URL.

Yeah, same reason that World Championships held overseas don't include more Americans. Too bad there's not enough cash involved.

I don't believe i saw "The Springfield kid's" name anywhere. Anyone know why danny harriman is not playing?

He was invited, but he decided not to come. He said he had not been playing much. I think he has a long way to go to even find a practice table.
