Does anyone know the start time for each session, day session and night session?

Wow, that's one tough field.

In addition, unknown quantities in 14.1 such as Jayson Shaw, Shane Van Boening and Wang Can add a lot of flavor to this event.

Bring it on!

Cleiton Rocha announced on Facebook just today that he blew out his back and cannot play this year.

I wonder if I should keep a pair of Slacks, a suit shirt and a Vest in my car ?

I have to ask, why is Thorsten Hohmann listed as being USA??? Just curious.

I guess it's possible Thorsten's a citizen now, but regardless he should be listed as European. The marketing for this event stresses that Thorsten leads the European troops and John Schmidt leads the American troops into the fray.

Mika Immonen has lived in the US for fifteen years but is rightly listed as being from Finland.

Here's the matches set for Day 1, I believe these are the stream table matches !!!

Anybody else count just 47 names? Does that mean Charlie couldn't fill the field?

I got 47 as well, that being said Cleiton Rocha has announced he isn't playing before this post was made making it 46. so maybe the listing isn't 100% correct or complete. we shall see come Monday !!!

George, they had 64 two years ago, when you were there in New Brunswick for some of the commentary. (Will you be doing any this year?) But it was 48 last year in Flushing.

First, it was round-robin play in 8 groups of 6 players (games to 100 points), to eliminate 3 from each group, leaving 24 players.

Then they played double elimination on a 32-player chart with 8 byes (games to 150 points), to get it to 16 players.

Then single elimination to the end, with games to 200 points.

It is so much more expensive for out of town players to stay in New York. I do not understand how people can afford it. It is also expensive for out of town fans to stay over. I went two days last week, but I have a family member in the area.
I have stayed over for some tournaments where hotels are reasonable. No such thing in New York. Not queens or surrounding areas.
In the past I have seen some locals used to fill in the draw. I spoke to both Ralf Souqet and Danny Harriman at the make it happen event. I was surprised to hear them both say that they where not going to the world championships.

Marop and I are splitting a room for under $200 per night. Wednesday through Saturday. Not too bad.

Danny has not played in a few years. You are right. It does cost to get there and to enter and for lodgings. Ralf said he had other commitments in Germany.
