hi all, if you have a chance to buy a brand new southwest cue with 2700, would you buy it or let go?
thank you!

plenty of them have sold for more, they are not able to keep up with demand, and it is unlikely you will do better,so why not buy it?

Sw cue

Hi, I would consider to buy a Tascarella cue with that price range. It plays much better than SW cues, Of course, That is only my opinion.

NO!!! There are a lot of other better playing cues and nicer looking from other top name makers for less. And I already have one.

Southwest

I just heard that the new "out the door price" with 3-veneers, and A-B rings is $2100.
Material costs have gone up.
When it was $1600 from SW some people who were looking for a SW to play with were paying $2800.
The secondary market is still strong, $2700 is close for a new one, 3-veneers, A-B rings.
Here on AZ you could pick one up for a little less, or a used one for as low as $2000.
On a used SW just make sure the shafts haven't been re-tapered

I agree, for $2700 you can buy a nice looking and better playing cue than a SW. I've owned at least 5 SW cues and I don't own any of them any longer and all of mine had the A/B rings and triple veneers. They were nice cues, but I just couldn't get one that felt right for me. This is only my opinion and there are many SW cue owners who will disagree with me.......

Here's some pictures of 3 of the SW cues I owned so you know i'm speaking from experience:

Southwest

Southwest seem to be hot sellers, Roy at IndyQ is alway tring to buy for resale, or sell Southwests

I agree the resale on Southwest cues even in a bad economy is terrific.
When someone wants a Southwest, they want a Southwest.
The 10-year waiting list speaks for itself...
The secondary market of cues has sucked for a long time but Southwest cues have held up.
In general most customs play good, most of the custom cue builders seem to be busy so there is something to be said for supporting your local cue builder.

In this economy... that price is high IMO... I think you can do better right now.

$2700 depends on the SW...needs to be in as new condition with all the rings.

You can't go wrong with a SW as either a player or as an investment. They are fantastic, stiff playing cues, and they hold their value pretty much as good as any cue you can buy.

Do you like SW Cues? Would you be buying to keep or re-sell? What does the cue consist of (rings, laminates, ferrules, wood combination)? All should be a part of your choice.

SW Cues

A new SW with A&B rings using ebony in any area of the cue is now over $2300. They are charging $200 extra for ebony. I know, I just received an new SW and have another one coming next month.

When he says all the rings make certain you get one
with the "double butt-cap" ring that most people forget about.

For 2700 I would pass, There are to many good cues out there at very reasonable prices,The last SW I recieved from Laurie was a great disapointment, after getting the price jacked up by her 3 times befor I got the cue.Plus the rings where incorrect an the cue had a dead hit feel to it ,I was fortunate enough to unload it within a month of getting it, an made 200.00 more than I paid for it. I also had a second on order but canceled it. I can buy 2-3 cues an try out some new cue makers .I still have an old PJ BEM from befor they started engraving the pins ,I think I bought it in 84-86 time period for 175.00 brand new with shipping, that one several friends have tried to buy from me.That one hits great finish is all flaking off wrap is filthy looks like an old rag, I am going to give the old thing a refinish soon .But these are just my opinions,If you think its a ood deal it doesnt much matter what others think as long as you are satisfied.Good luck with your search..
