Please Have Jeremy Jones Commentate *EVERYTHING*

Been saying for years that Jeremy is the best commentator out there in his style (not color commentary). Might be the best ever.

The man is a laid back, dynamic, totally knowledgeable commentator who adds immeasurably to a broadcast by knowing what to say, when to say it and how much.   And he has a great voice.

Sorry JJ but you need to be knocked out of all future streamed tourneys early and dragged into to booth for all of our sake. For pool's sake, really. :yeah:

Thank you for doing such a brilliant job.

imo

He is very good. The only one I ever heard that was just as good was Darren Appleton. Get rid of Billy Gibb. He always sounds like he had about 6 shots and a beer while commentating.

Yet he has put awful commentators on there for years. Dilaberto was on there earlier in the week, who has been terrible for the past 4+ years, and had to put volume on near mute the whole time. He gave Hennessee a try and he was bad. Gibbs is so so, in very limited quantity. He had Donnie Mills on one and he was okay. He is pretty quiet though and couldn't get much in with Wilson going non stop. Nice to see him have JJ on a stream, the best commentator there is.

Hennessey has a thick accent which was hard for me to follow. I generally liked what he said though. I think that's an example of why people who work in media generally don't have strong accents, even in places in the deep South.

Real thick :D

I agree Jeremy Jones is one of the best I've heard. Hes intelligent and knows the game well and has a good sounding voice for commentary.

After watching Jayson Shaw play and Jeremy Jones commentary, I feel like a better player just by watching.
It's kind of surreal.
But that last match was an exceptional opportunity to learn.

Notha hater . ......

Bruh...... Drop your f00kin' attitude. I ain't the one, trust me..

My comment was an aside in direct response to dawgcpa's statement - "It’s a shame he can’t make a living commentating and giving analysis on pool matches."

If a person is independently "comfortable", if not "wealthy", then there is no reason for them to "make a living" at anything...

Given that a SECOND person made the exact same observation that "It's a shame Jeremy can't make a living doing commentary, then obviously my information has some merit, as at least two people in the thread are under the impression that there is something stopping double J from commentating every tournament.

My comment wasn't an "attack" against anyone, merely passing on of information. No need for you to get butthurt about it, unless you are just an inherently unhappy person floating through this world looking for something to be offended by.

Are you a millenial, by chance? Or just an old, crusty liberal bitter about your failure to grab life by the short hairs?

Double J for president!!!!!

TD

The double J n Shannon duo was perfect !!!!!
Had to suffer again with DeLiberto yesterday. :boring2:
Will somebody tell him his days are over and to please just politely go away?
(I doubt it, he'd probably want to beat them up with his boxing skills)
Totally old news.
:boring2:

Double J and Billy Incardona are the dream team of pool commentators.

Like getting used to watching only the top players play, without either of these two guys commentating, it feels like it's not really worth listening much.

JJ's best line of the day, and he had a lot of good ones - "There's a fine line between when you're young and down on the ball and when you're a little older and up off of the ball." He was referring to a player's stance on the cue ball and it resonated with me. JJ often nails an esoteric piece of information like this and it offers a moment of enlightenment for all of us. Thanks Jeremy! :thumbup2:

I had the pleasure of doing a little commentary with Jeremy in Galveston as well, and I knew then that he was a natural. Over the years the pool players who have stood out for me include Sigel, Buddy, Bob Hunter and John Schmidt. I think Shannon is excellent as well, but I've never had the opportunity to work with him. Scott Rabon is another good com, along with my buddy Joey A. Most recently I enjoyed my time in the booth with Freddy 'Cornerman'. Of course Jerry Forsyth and Jimmy Wych are real pros in my book. Will be joining them soon in Las Vegas.

I thought he was referring to being young and thinking you can make anything with a shooters mentality and being older you have more experience and think more about safties and options before you get down on the ball.
Either way it's kind of like a great song writer or lyricist, it can mean different thing's to different people and still make great sense and hold weight. JJ is a beast in the booth.
