Please help me pick out a new cue

Looking to buy a new cue because I recently found out I shoot a lot better with 21oz sticks and my stick that I've had for 4 years is only 18oz. I guess I should explain my skill level and style of play. I don't use side english unless the cue ball and object ball are both very close to the pocket because I can't get the hang of compensating for deflection. I haven't been able to learn how the draw the ball. I do know how to stop the ball but avoid doing do if I can as it messes up my accuracy. I'm pretty good at using follow. I prefer to slow roll the balls in and only hit medium/hard when I have to. I play a lot of safeties. So which cue is good for me? Will spend up to $375-400 but would a cue that expensive even benefiit a player of my skill level? Thanks!

Thanks but I don't really care about improving my game. Much more valuable to my team at my current handicap.

Wow. What kind of cue is it you have now? There's a good chance you will be able to increase the weight in it.

Just goto walmart and pick up a pack of split shot sinkers. You can drill a hole anywhere in your butt and hammer them in. When you get enough weight, then just duct tape over the hole.

If its not enough weight, you can always remove the duct tape and add a few more sinkers.

This is how I got my Tad up to 25 ounces, and it plays phenomenal!!

I play with one of the knock-off Balabushkas (GB-01). And yes, I got it because of the Color of Money lol

Weight can easily be increased in that cue. U need a phillips head screwdriver to get the screw that holds the bumper in out, then a 6mm allen wrench to get the weight bolt out. Measure how long that bolt is and let me know I can send you a longer, heavier bolt.

You already have a pretty good cue. Just get the weight bolt and increase it to what you think you need.
And with your wanting to stay at the same level of play, which sounds like a little above basic banger save the money and keep what you have. You are not going to get a much better cue for the money you want to spend. I still don't understand why you would not want to improve.

Then why do you want a heavier cue if it makes you play better?

You beat me to the punch. If you don't care about playing better, but want a new heavier cue to play better... very contidicting.

I won one of the Balabushka replica's in a raffle and I think they actually play very nicely. I have numerous customs and shoot with a Pechauer, but I can pick up that cue and not skip a beat. It is not my desired hit though as I feel it hits soft. I'm sure you could add weight to it. If not, you can buy mine its 20 oz :)

Go to the closet, get out your broom, whittle it down to 21 oz put a tip on it. If you start playing better, start shooting every other shot with your eyes closed.
$375.00 please.

you sound like your basic troll, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Nothing wrong with your current weight. Since you have no desire to get better, I'd just add some weight to your current cue. Cue's aren't going to make you any better, and unless you just want a new cue for a new cues sake there is no reason to change.

I was only kidding about not wanting to improve. I didn't like the reply of basically "you suck, get lessons" so I came back with that. I do want to learn more but it seems like I'm incapable of it, unfortunately. I had a B+ player that was on my team for 2 years and we went to the pool hall together plenty of times and he would try to teach me draw, side english, and all that but I never got the hang of it. But he taught me how to play a very smart, defensive game which has pulled me through many matches where I should have had no business winning. Some people just don't have it in them to get to a high level in pool and I'm one of those people. But it's ok, I enjoy it a lot. :)

Call

You can call me if you wish and I will try to help you pick a cue This should be a very interesting call? I will help the best I can. If you can't draw the cue ball and have a hard time stopping it without messing your shot up, you may need more than a cue, much more. I will try 209 823-9444
