Please help me price this table.

Let's say the seller is asking $2K and I offer him $1K based on it being used. How would you present this offer?

I think that's what I will wind up saying. "Um yeah, Jay said that it's worth $1K and that's what your going to sell it for. Um-kay?":D
 
That would be a great approach IF the seller actually knows Jay and also realizes that his table may be overpriced at 2K and respects Jay's opinion and also has no other buyers.

If you approach the sale with this info. and the guy comes back with an answer that would seem resonable to overcome Jay's opinion - Then what will your response be? Are you prepared. Having a one sentence reason for offering a lower number may not work out the way you expected.

I stand corrected...(acutally sit corrected)

Is the table together (as in the picture) or in peices?


I would look it over and make sure everything still goes together cleanly...(no warpage overly worn out screw holes wood etc).....prime targets would be around the pocket area and ball return area...

If it is clean in that regard...1k would be a very fair price.

I picked up a used GCII a few years back for that exact price...The table in the pic looks like a similar type table.
 
I would say...
I've done some homework looking at tables online and asking knowledgable pool people at AZBilliards online forums... and based on the age, the quality and the condition of your table it's value is much more in the $1000 range... not the $2000 you are asking... and therefore I'm willing to offer you $1000 for it. How many people besides myself have made an offer for your table? I'm interested, but not at your asking price.​
 
jay's right its worth a dime, i wouldnt pay more, if the seller gets more then let him sell them, becuase you didnt miss a deal you dodged a bullet. believe me you will find alot of 9' tables out there for $1000 if you look around, $2000 is just way too much no matter what they cost new, its only worth a dime no mater if it was $5,000 or $15000 brand new, it is what it is and thats a dime.
 
You'll have close to 2k in it by the time you have it finished. Let him try to get 2k and then reoffer you price of 1k and explain that you had an expert look at the pic and then there's set up and cloth etc.
