Please Identify this Hoppe ...

I picked up this old Hoppe today and not certain what era
it was made.

The Points are almost dead even in length and the only damage
at all is around the Butt Cap area, but not too bad. The leather
wrap is still in very nice condition and the Butt rolls straight.
Weight of the Butt alone is 16.8 ozs.

I will need to replace the shaft as it is about 11mm now and has
a very slight warp near the tip.

This is a late 1960's model and it was not made by Brunswick. In the second photo there are some numbers below the joint collar, this means the cue was made in Japan. The cues made there were numbered in this fashion, on the Butt and the Shaft, because the butt and shaft were not interchangable.

These cues are valued much less than those made by Brunsiwick, but if you make a conversion out of it who would know!!!!!

Nice find I have come across 4 Hoppe's in antique stores in the last 10 years. Sometimes you are in a store and you can just feel it. Check this site out some good stuff on the old Titlist cues.

Where do you generally find these things? pawnshops? prolyl much harder in canada too..

What about a replacement shaft ?

You did very good, if you are planning to convert it.:smile:

Since you are in the Cue business, would you have a "decent" replacement
Shaft to fit this Cue ... Ring work does not have to match, but same diameter
would be nice, with shaft size near 13mm, please.

Diameter at Joint is: .840"

Diameter at Pilot is: .520"
