I am planning to do several tributes, none will be exactly the same.Isay this now so if you prefer to keep yours private or send it privately to me ,you have the choice

I will be commissioning the very best cuemakers that I can obtain to do these, and would be glad to work with you if you want one too

Imagine an old cue... it is very nice. It would please anyone who received it. It has a old school look to it, very traditional, but very fancy also. Yours could look just like it!

this is a great learning oppertunity

i'm very interested in seeing a B-Wick 360. There is one on Cuezilla.com right now.

I know a a good but about cues(mostly the big name cue makers, materials and consturction basics) and I'm proud of what I have lerned over the years, with the help of alot of people here. I also realized after seeing that cue on Cuezilla.com I still have a ton to learn about cues. Especially old cues. I want to learn about them-all I know is there is alot I dont know. My knowlege about cues starts in the mid-late 60's and there were a pile of cues made long before then of which i'm very ignorant about them.

So if anyone here has pics of the B-Wick 360 and its cousins, brothers and sisters I'd lover to see them. And learn as much as possible.

Ths is so cool I was getting board and not learning much recently about cues, now I have opened a new door into a world I know very little about, and will enjoy learning. thanks in advance for the help. The more you know about cues the more fun they are, and you can appericate them more, price should never be the reason a cue is "Great", how it plays is my #1 creitria, after that a cues history, design, construction, artistic appeal etc are the elements that interest me(in no specific order), I suppose I could not consider playability on super old cues because of the equipment changes over the years.

best

I agree with Fatboy. The more I learn the more I enjoy looking at the older cues.

Great thread Dean,

to Jamie

thanks for the fun, good humor. Now send me some pictures,I know you are just the one to have what I am looking for.

TO eric

Iam already doing a project to make 3 Brunswick 360 style, very close. Iam commissioning 3 because it is too dificult for 99% of the good cue makers to do at all,and the cuemaker who can do it will have too much research and development in the cue to be cost effective.to make only one.Now when he cuts one piece ,he does 3,it becomes cost effective. The colors don't have to be the same, but the design does.

Even if I keep all 3 I am going ahead full bore,if you want what no one else will likely ever get,and a reasonable price then contact me,we know each other and can both afford to take a risk of some amount to make a bases loaded homer.

Call me 214 477 7323 to discuss the details and I will be glad to proceed with you in this project that may turn out to be our greatest.

It could be so difficult that we lose, but i THINK YOU ARE NOT A WHINER OR AFRAID TO ROLL THE BONES,if you were I wouldn't invite you in.

Dean

please ,this is not the time for pictures and the offer is only to fatboy, this project involves some time and risk, not much money.

I'd like to know how many cuemakers today could make a true 360? I know Fanelli could...

Here's a picture of the marquetry cue from 1830 I found for Rick Goulden (fifth from the top) along with some of his old timers, which include a beautiful old Brunswick 360...

i thought this thread was kind of ironic too

To cmd

thanks for remarks, now send me a pretty picture

Dean

I wish I could Dean but my cues are far too new. My oldest cue is only 20 years old but it is pretty rare. I have one that is less than 2 years and the other is about 3 months. That's all I got for now.

I was not trying to make fun of you at all. I just thought Jamie was being funny. My apologies if I offended you. :sorry:

Here's a fancy Palmer I do still own. It's a Model 11 from the first catalog with additional inlays near the joint, which I think are cool. The top of the line model at the time just wasn't quite enough for the original owner...

The cue is in excellent original condition and has the proper first model Palmer box case. It has two shafts with screw on ferrules in almost perfect condition with an extra pair of replacements.

The cue rolls straight as an arrow (even though it's got that "fishbowl" appearance in my less than stellar picture) and hits very solid. I added another shaft later on, which has a regular ferrule, in case I wanted to hit some balls with it. I'd heard that the screw ons weren't all that hot. I was actually surprised at how well they did hit, so maybe I just got lucky? Love those old school cues!

Dean,
Give Mark Bear a call I know he has been planning on doing a couple of these older style cues.

Count me in, I will call you later on.

Thats why I invited Fat Boy in,no pictures,no price,no cuemakers name, nothing but a great idea."Count me in" Now Eric and I are each going to have a beautiful Brunswick 360 Tribute or something close and even a little better than the original

If there is one more person willing to roll the bones,I am doing 3,I am not selling mine,Eric is keeping his,and if anyone else wants to join in this adventure,

Call me 214 477 7323

I have a pretty good track record but this little adventure involves going where few have gone,if you are not used to taking a little risk please think long and hard.
Its not all that expensive to get this one,but it has a chance to be something special

Hunter,Steve Feld

You really did post some nice pictures<I have never seen one of the marqutry cues from by gone days.I did see a picture in the Billiad Digest and I have wanted one ever since. That rose cue is something I would like done by one of the masters, but who is capable of such a work today

dean

This is great ,Bogey

this project cue i am doing is going to be something like that ,but with more designs above the points, and above the joint

If it turns out anywhere nearly as nice as yours, which I hope it does, then I will not only be pleased, but so will fatboy and
another collector

Can you believe people love these cues so much, they are calling me to get one without knowing the cuemaker, the price or any thing but the fact that the old 360 design is beautiful

As of now,I agree that you have the nicest conversion cue ever, but I am shooting for the stars

Dean

I am hoping to spark an interest in the masterpieces of the past

Hi Steve (Hunter on AZ )

thanks for the pictures and thecomments.I think we could do some cues like that beautiful ole marquetry cue with the Rose and flowers

I have already been talking to cuemakers,Drexler did something like this for me,but he got carried away and next thing you know,I was out $20,000 and the cue had hundres of rare stones etc.It was a masterpiece though. That Drexler can do things like nobody I have seen, but I am thinking of a popular priced shot at the prize

If I do the project,it will have to be around 5 cues to keep the cost down,it will feature woods only in order to be true to historical standards, and the quality will have to be top notch. Meucci did something with a flower, but this will be altogether different than that

Steve,
I f you have an interest ,as I do ,then contact me

If we do this project ,I want you to design a tooled case by that case maker of yours. What a fitting setting your case and this antique tribute .

Please post the picture of the Texas case here for the AZ crowd to see
