I'm not affiliated with them or anything, I just feel that they deserve it.

They've been the best thing that has ever happened to pool and I bet their CDs/videotapes (Past 2k) have helped each one of us immensely.

Now with the unfortunate corona pandemic, they have been uploading many of their great videos on youtube with great production and commentary values for free.

I feel that they deserve our support by clicking the subscribe button on youtube and also putting the bill notification on to see their live premieres.

I second that. If it weren’t for Pat, we would not be able to see today what a great player Mike Zuglan was or catch a glimpse of Bugs, Ronnie, Jersey Red, Cornbread Red, Boston Shorty and many other great players of that bygone era.

Don’t forget to like the videos if you enjoyed them guys!

AGREED!!

A HUGE shout out to Pat and the Accu-Stats team for all the recent uploads.

Pat may be the greatest single Patron of the game we love. I cant think of anyone who has done so much for so many for so long.

...
ever wonder what your own personal tpa is? wonder no more:thumbup:

Before Pat Fleming did videos, he did statistics like TPAs. He sold a magazine full of statistics from tournaments -- thus the name Accu-Stats. Here is an example cover. Maybe you recognize the player. ;)

If you are seriously into statistics you can read all 22 issues of the magazine here:

"'morales,' huh?" "who's that guy?" "never heard of him..."
oh, to be a fly on the wall when "cesar" walked into rooms back then:D

re: tpa, you posted those before, bob
I loved you for it then, and nothing's changed:thumbup:
those old mags are *gold*
looking at the 2020 tpa, I was just wondering how they would compare with the oldies
I bet the averages have gone up over time, but that would be fun to check..

ps bob re: cesar, youtube was on autoplay yesterday, and a short vid of him playing 9-ball popped up- early us open round, maybe?
anyway, there was zero crowd, except what appeared to be one familiar face watching diligently from a bleacher seat...

Here is Efren Reyes playing Nick Varner in the finals of the 19th US Open 9-Ball: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgEArfgah5A

I just started watching this match, and after a few games I'm reminded of what a bulldog Nick was. One of the things that made him such a great player was his tenacity. He just never quit coming at you, and never seemed to let down no matter how the match was going. The other thing that stood out for me was how quickly these two were playing. No wasted motion here and no need for a shot clock. They got right down to business when it was their turn. This was a time when Efren had finally got a handle on his break shot, which had been his weakness before. He was breaking pretty solidly in this match.

I was not at this tournament. It was during a period that I was preoccupied with events on the West Coast and had little time for other events. We used to do back to back to back events twice a year at Hard Times, the Bicycle Club and the Sands in Reno. That was a trifecta of tournaments that attracted all the top players. Ah, the good ole days!

This is a good match to see how the best players of that era compare with the best players today. Nick and Efren were definitely two of the best back then, along with Earl, Buddy, Sigel and Johnny, Parica and Busti, and a dozen other guys like Rempe, Howard and Hopkins. Pro pool was very competitive back then with over a dozen big tournaments a year, almost all in the States.

I would also add to pay for their on demand service. $10 a month for almost 400 videos.
Vimeo is not a perfect system but the matches are worth the struggle.

I’d also like to give a “shout out” to Pat Fleming and Accu-Stats. I had some questions about how to score TPA for some less common 9-ball scenarios and Pat was quick to answer with a personal email.

Let’s not forget that he’s trying to make a living doing this. Go beyond subscribing to free content and lay down a few bucks to support the cause. It wasn’t that long ago that YouTube didn’t exist and Accu-Stats VHS tapes were the only means of watching professional pool outside the occasional ESPN broadcast.
