Please watch

Yes Bill, trying to keep it simple. If this format had been offered the last 25yrs or so do you think you would have participated?

If the McDermott Tour offered this along side each event, be a good chance if I got knocked out I might of tried it, but wouldn't pay an extra days room. Having your sidebar event attached to some current tours may help. But as always, the human factor has to be dealt with.

Hi Colin, sorry for delayed response but actually responded twice yesterday via taptalk on my phone and both got deleted before posting!
I appreciate you taking the time. Scratch otb penalty or lack thereof does raise some eyebrows. In 8 9 or 10b its usually a near death penalty. Here we're trying to make the punishment suit the crime. Most scratches otb or just bad kisses but and this wouldn't be anytime this year we are considering an additional penalty of letting opponent take any one ball off the table which they would receive points for. Had considered an automatic point deduction for scratch otb but that kind of messes with the perfect 20 points per rack scoring system.
Hi Joe,
I agree with not deducting points. Being able to track total scores easily, via checking 20,40,60 etc totals, helps to avoid mis-counting.
Opponent taking out a strategic ball and getting a point is an ok idea, though it might lead to delays as the opponent tries to measure up the potential advantages and disadvantages of taking off various balls.

Playing from head and foot spot, as I suggested is problematic for wearing out these spots, problems spotting up, luck of the ball on etc. I had another idea you might consider, as a mild punishment: BIH with CB touching a rail. It guarantees a shot and any shot is WAY better than giving up BIH.

Colin
