Imagine a set between Karen Corr and whoever you think is best between Rodney Morris, Corey Deuel, Sky Woodward, Oscar Dominguez and Billy Thorpe

Set is best of 5, races to 11 matches, with the equipment and rules of the US Open

But Karen may get a spot.

Using your best judgment, what spot makes the Set as close as possible, --so that YOU would struggle with which way to call it?

Karen gets 0 games: match is 11 to 11
Karen gets 1 game: match is 11 to 10
Karen gets 2 games: match is 11 to 9
Karen gets 3 games: match is 11 to 8
Karen gets 4 games: match is 11 to 7
Karen gets 5 games: match is 11 to 6
Karen gets 6 games: match is 11 to 5
Karen gets 7 games: match is 11 to 4

Bumping this to get a few more responses

I would say that against the strongest of those, 3 games, but against the weakest, 2 games.

I agree- these players aren't exactly equal- Morris and Oscar are probably better than the rest. I think Corr would really test Corey, Sky, and Thorpe with just a minor spot

Using Rodney, Oscar and Sky as the benchmark, if it were 4 games on the wire in a race to 11, I might consider her. 3 games I would take the guys, especially winner breaks.

This is no knock on Karen. She is a champion. But playing these guys would be a bit more heat than she usually gets.

By the way Mike, this is a great poll. I am interested in the results - I am mainly interested in how Fargorate calculates the match. I have nothing but respect for the Fargorate system.

I'm going for a wild guess here:

You like Disneyland better than Disneyworld...

3 and I take the boys. 4 is my tipping point. The problem is with 3 if she happens to win the first game she is a big favorite from there.

She would probably get a spot but I remember a couple years ago she beat Earl to advance to the finals and then lost to Shaw.

On a good day she could beat any of the guys on your list even but she probably does get a spot. I'm not sure how much snooker or black ball she plays but I wouldn't be surprised if she is even in both of those games.

I'm not sure I get the joke- you mean these guys are all fairly similar in talent and that there is no need to split hairs. If so, you're probably right :)

I picked 2 games, might swing as much as 3 but anything more than that and I can't possibly see KC losing in that format.

Well, I certainly can see her losing with 4 or 5 games against say Rodney in winner breaks. He might run a five pack and a 6 pack and smoke her. He might do that to anyone.

I said 2 earlier, but if is best of 5 sets and the best of the players listed, I think 3 may be better.
