People think there are haters and supporters. I think there is more than that. Here are the poll options I thought of. I clicked the Poll button, but not sure if it'll work since I've never done a poll.

1. Love everything about it.
2. Frustrated so far, but want to see it succeed.
3. Like the idea, don't like the game.
4. Don't like it, but would like it to succeed for the players benefit.
5. Too much stuff I don't like to support it. (rules, uniforms, tight pockets, game, etc)
6. I'd like to support it, but the people running it are unlikable, leaning me towards #7.
7. Hate it and look forward to it failing.

Here are my thoughts. I'm between #2 and 3, with a little of #6 because Nathan's posts can seem a little insulting like we don't matter. Don't know him, and it sounds like he doesn't mean it when he defends.

Scheduling conflicts - no turning back now, it is what it is and everyone will survive in my opinion. Don't buy the argument that all players can attend other events because we have alternates. What if the alternates want to play the other events as well? Somebody is going to be told they can't.

I think the pockets should be 4 or 4 1/4.

Love the team concept, not quite sure about the game though.

Jersey's do look a little funky and I wouldn't buy one. But if they did look a little more comfortable, I would purchase my favorite team/player. But I would be kind of embarrassed to wear one of the current jersey's out.

Little too high priced for the stream at $9.95. If they do succeed and even get 10k viewers, that's a pretty nice take. I think they'd get more viewers consistently for $3 or $4 per match.

If the stream isn't important in the big picture (Nathan says), it should be cheaper to get more people to try it and further build the fan base. Regardless of whoever the true target market is, the bigger the fan base the better.

I think some have looked at my posts and consider me a hater. Couldn't be further from the truth. Please don't confuse frustration with disdain.

Why are people continually inventing games in the hopes that somehow pro pool players will receive worldwide recognition and wealth beyond the dreams of avarice.
Leave it alone for crissakes. Keeping my pool room open is far more important.

I want it to succeed. I want to buy it, I want to go to Vegas and spectate, I want the players, sponsors and owners to gain from it, and I want it to co-exist in the industry.

I see how much people have invested their time and money in this, and I applaud them for "going for it". I LOVE pool. But, I have no idea yet if it's appealing to me enough that I will be a REPEAT paying customer. All we've gotten online is chopped liver and broken promises.

I hope they can get their most recent failure (streaming) fixed ASAP. It's hard for me to grasp how such a venture has had so many problems. It makes me question the leadership, and hence the future of BB.

I believe they will fix the streaming problem. And I look forward to someday finally seeing the product.

Interesting early results

I'm actually shocked that there are already 4 votes for hating and hoping it would fail. It is early in the voting though.

So what I see so far based on poll results is people do want it to succeed, but there are a lot of people that don't like the tone of the Nathan posts. Whether it's about target market, excuses for issues with streaming, scheduling, or whatever.

For the 5 that just hate it and hope it fails, do you want to explain why in further detail?

How about an 8th option?

8. Don't care. Has no impact on my life what-so-ever. Have better things to do/worry about.

I'd vote for that...

Just my opinion

Like some parts don't like others. Biggest problem is due to the train wreck on the stream haven't
really seen anything that will help me finalize a decision.

Almost need a category for "would like to form an opinion
but they keep fυcking up the stream so I can't".

I think most of bonus ball is fine. I like the goals and the game itself seems like it's solid,
Don't like the scheduling issue but since it doesn't affect me directly it's hard to be truly mad about it.

Different game? I dunno. Maybe this is just me but I suspect I would get bored faster
with the whole thing trying to watch day after day of the same old games
using the same old shots and safeties. There are thousands upon thousands of 8/9/10b matches already.
I welcome something fresh as long as it's designed carefully enough that it's fair and interesting.

No problem with nathan's posts.* If you detect a 'tone' in them it's because
he's trying hard to remain calm and professional while people shit all over something he works hard at.
There's even some baffling personal insults thrown his way like
"he's hoping to steal as much AV equipment as he can before it sinks" or some such shit.
That would certainly give ME an attitude.

*actually just read his "In regards to bonus ball" post and I sort of take
this back... the tone could use some work.

As a PR guy he probably needs to find a balance between JCIN (honest, direct, and intelligent, but can
sometimes put out a really blunt and negative "you don't like it, tough titties" vibe... no offense intended sir)
and Barry B. (handles critics poorly, gets into verbal "bar fights", talks out of turn,
overly optimistic chipper tone seems completely unrealistic and fake).

In other words he needs to be honest but still trying to sound positive rather than defensive.

Jerseys - there's a large chunk of the population that simply wouldn't wear a sports jersey in public,
no matter how it's designed. So they might consider expanding to at least one shirt that could be worn
at work or a decent restaurant.

Stream cost is fine, I can't imagine anyone wanting to watch it and saying "man, I could go
as high as $5, but $10 is gonna break me. Money's just too tight right now for that."
A few hours of entertainment for 10 bucks is reasonable, assuming I will actually be entertained
and not frustrated with streaming hassles.

Anyway, good poll idea. This is info they could use to improve their image and product.

I'd like to see it and make an informed decision. I didn't pay for the stream so they don't owe me any explanations at all. Does it suck that we couldn't watch it after much anticipation and many delays ? hell yes it does. Again though, they don.t owe me shit, I payed for nothing.

Looking forward to eventually being able to check out this new game and see if I can get into it.

Nice post CreeDo. $10/wk or $170/season seems a little high to me for an unproven product. Sure, it won't break me, but a cheaper price may entice more viewers, which gets more people talking about it, which hopefully gets more viewers.

I don't have Direct TV, but I believe the NFL Sunday ticket package is much cheaper than this for the most popular sport in the US.

In my non educated marketing mind, it's like baseball. Do you charge $100 per seat and fill 50% of the park, or charge $40 per seat and fill 90%. In which you get beer sales, food sales, parking, souvenirs, etc. As well as a larger fan base to fall back on.

Just my thoughts.
