314-2 shaft because I like the way I play with it. I have two for my current cue and had one for my old cue. I have tried the Z-2 and OB-1. IMO the 314-2 is the best FOR ME.

What he said.

Traditional shaft turned down to around 12.3 or 12.4 with a 1/2 inch ferrule :p

I love the feel of solid maple but don't like the big deflection a 13mm 1 inch ferrule solid maple shaft gives me. I had a Z shaft for about 2 years and really liked it... that was about 2 years ago. Maybe I should try a Z-2?

Universal all day for me. As close to a standard maple shaft as I have found that gives the characteristics of a LD shaft.

Completely agree!! I love both my Universals. I especially like the 4+ ounce USS's. I have 2 and both are great.

Have played with a 314 for several years and love it!

I have less deflection in my fishing rod than the Meucci!

I just started playing with a Predator Z2 with a Talisman X hard tip about 2 months back and I think I"ve found a keeper. Just ordered another cut to .850" at the joint end so it will match my butt.

I like a shaft to be about 12mm which is what the Z2 comes in with and the Z hard tip gives me the crisp hit I want.

I hated the feel of the hit with the OB1 and the experimentation I did with it didn't improve it that much and that experimentation didn't improve the low deflection characteristics much either.

I also tried a 314 but didn't care for the feel of the hit or the diameter.

The others I havn't tried but the Z2 with the Talisman X hard tip is a shaft that fits my tastes.

Make it again, Sam...

I'd want another custom just like the two I already have:

10mm tip width
1/4 inch ferrule (or less)
shaft hollow at tip
straight (conical) taper for stiffness

Forgot to mention that is also an added bonus for me as well. Mine weighs in at 4.55oz. Another weighs in at 4.3oz.

i like the 314 but the prodigy shaft i use on my QP cue does deflect less and personally i think it feels better when i play with it than a 314
