Ya know what's funny? Everytime I come to the forums or my local room. There are insecure people trying "self-help methods" or laying down the excuses left and right. Most people who play pool have no heart, no confidence or are mental. I was in Binghamton, NY and went outside to have a smoke and saw a guy in his car who was just playing in the tournament, smashing his head on his steering wheel because he lost. I'm still disturbed from that, no lie...weird dude.

Now, why can't people just keep their excuses to themselves?
Why do I have to hear a 10 min long story on why you missed a straight in shot? Why do I have to hear you mumbling to yourself on how to play better? And after the game is over I don't wanna hear why u lost or missed. No one cares.

Why can't people learn from their mistakes, shut their f**king mouth and continue the game?

I can't answer any of your questions except the first one.

"Ya know what's funny?"

Yeah, I know what's funny. Movies like "Blazing Saddles", "Airplane", and "Caddyshack". The "Pamela Anderson Roast" on Comedy Central was funny. The old sitcoms like "the Honeymooners" and "Dick Van Dyke" was funny. Frank Caliendo (and MANY other stand-up comedians, too many to list) is funny. Small children can be amusingly funny.

Your thread is "funny" funny ;)!!!

If you don't want to hear things like that I suggest you stick to playing the ghost for the rest of your life. You will never get away from that type of stuff in this game.

Kind of goes with the package. People are people, whether they're playing pool, checkers, or golf. Some are too competitive, some are poor losers, some are too hard on themselves.

Don't wanna hear it? Sorry about that. Trying to stop people from being who they are is a bit of a challenge. More than pool will ever defeat.

I think that most players over-rate their games and when they play at their normal speeds they're looking for excuses. They lose because of bad rolls or bad luck. It's rarely because the other guy played better.

While that's true, I'm sure everyone can admit to themselves if they are being outplayed or not.

Seriously though, when I see new comers starting out, I see them watching the people that are *****ing and acting like babies, and they get turned off from the beautiful game that is pool. Happens all the time. No one wants to be around nut cases when they are trying to enjoy themselves.

^^^ this the first time in the 12 years I've been playing that I said something... Just FYI.

Hahaha! That was good! Although, my face is pretty so I guess that rules that out.

There's your problem. You think this guy has people looking to talk about their days to him?

Many moons ago I'd occasionally play one particular young fellow some 9ball, who, occasionally when he'd miss would lower his forehead to the felt. I don't know... maybe the felt felt comforting or something. Anyway, one day we jack the bet, and he misses a critical 9 and lowers his head to the felt -- at warp speed. I think he forgot that underneath he felt was some very hard and unyielding slate.

"Bam!"

And he rises up from the table kinda wobbly and all and I can't stop laughing and the rest of the set a big honking welt the size of a pool ball comes up on his forehead.

I didn't see him much around the pool hall after that.

No such thing as "bad rolls" or "bad luck"........

You hit the balls. They only go where you hit them.

What's funny is someone that whines and cries on a forum about someone that whines and cries. LMFAO!!
:p

How about retraining yourself so that your reaction is different (i.e., the wails and lamentations of your opponents become sweet music to your ears)?

At least he was smashing his head on his steering wheel outside instead of inside the pool hall.
If you are "still disturbed" over that I would hate to see how disturbed you would be if he had driven his car
through the front door, and then started smashing his head on the steering wheel.
