Pool halls: crybaby central

memories...

This thread reminds me of when a few years ago, an Italian national whose name escapes me, was competing at the SBE pro event and his disappointment in his game became evident when he began repeatedly slamming his head on the top corner of the Diamond pro table that he was playing his match on.

They had to page emergency personnel to respond as he started bleeding pretty bad from his head. Someone brought out a t-shirt and applied pressure until the emt folks arrived.

If I had to choose, I'd take the steering wheel every time. Those freakin' Diamond tables are hard.

Best,

LOL was it who Black-Balled mentioned?

It has been a while since I have seen Fabio Petroni's name in the mix.

Yeah what year was the Binghamton incident?? Thewre hasnt been a tournament in the binghamton area in probably a decade!!

The only halls i know of is Pocket Billiards Lounge in Binghamton. Guys and Dolls and Triangle Billiards in Endicott....

Im willing to bet money it was Jerry "Bugsy" Fields from Triangle!!

It's Fiel, with no "d". The Pocket Billiard Lounge is now Ball Busters' Billiards. Bugsy would have just shrugged it off, he pretty much always has:D There are others, though. You're right about there being no tournaments, last I heard was a Joss Tour stop a good many years ago, now.

not by a long shot

While that's true, I'm sure everyone can admit to themselves if they are being outplayed or not.

I've met many people that would never admit there being out played in a million years , and personely I think it its funny I hope they never change and it just makes me want to beat them even more!

his name was

Brian kc HIs name was Fabio Petroni (probably spelled wrong)

Bad beat stories heard here $5

I get so tired of hearing BAD BEAT STORIES I had a T-Shirt made
"BAD BEAT STORIES HEARD HERE $5". So far I have not made a dime so the shirt must be working.

I can't answer any of your questions except the first one.

"Ya know what's funny?"

Yeah, I know what's funny. Movies like "Blazing Saddles", "Airplane", and "Caddyshack". The "Pamela Anderson Roast" on Comedy Central was funny. The old sitcoms like "the Honeymooners" and "Dick Van Dyke" was funny. Frank Caliendo (and MANY other stand-up comedians, too many to list) is funny. Small children can be amusingly funny.

Your thread is "funny" funny ;)!!!

Maniac

Lewis Black is funny.

I guess that I must be pretty self aware because I rarely ever make excuses. In other words I blame myself first and this goes for pool, work out anything else. One thing I do make a point of doing is to review my game before going to sleep. I think about what I did well and what I did crappy that day.

Hmmmm

Poker players are MUCH worse than any pool player. WHy the got knocked out of a tourney, what the other guy did, how he was the fish, how good they are but have bad luck, got beat on the river again,,, blah, blah, blah, and tell you bad beat stories that happened 3 years ago.

I don't know who he is. I was out for a smoke and was looking around for no reason and saw a car moving slightly in place in the lot (a real nice car) and a dude was letting himself have it... No joke...

Are you absolutely sure something else wasn't going on in that car? :grin-square::wub::oink::grin-devilish::love::kiss:

I doubt it was Jerry...I used to buy him in calcuttas 'cause he was a
classy dude...he's good people.

And BTW..I like postmortems...many of us have had some laughs listening
to or telling them.
I know one guy , when he explains how he lost....it should be on
Saturday Night Live

When was this??

Back to Fabio Petroni

I remember that. I heard that he might have hung a couple of shots, kneeled down next to a corner pocket and just head butted that Diamond corner dymonwood piece like it was a WWF move-over and over and over. Damn.

Never did see any video posted though.

Anybody remember or know who his opponent was. That stuff could be unnerving. Possible shark move?

Does Fabio still play? Did this earn him a nickname?

Damn.

It's sort of like the Jerry Springer show. ---Ok, I'm messed up-BUT, I'm not that messed up.

Take care

When was this??

Oh gosh, if I remember correctly it was late 90s early 2000s. It was a while back. All I can tell you is, after he got out of the car, I observed a shorter guy with black hair. Well dressed and a nice car. I was shocked. That's all I know.

If it made him shorter, he must have been beating his head on the steering wheel for quite a while.

Dang.

Ok, thanks. There used to be a guy who moved to Binghamton, then moved to Endicott who was a cue buster of the first stripe. He died several years before we moved to SC in '97. He was known to bust cues and throw the pieces in the Susquehanna River out back of TPBL. Sometimes after a bad {he thought} tournament loss or a money match. Real nice guy, though.
He bought a Palmer from me after such an incident, many, many years ago.
I used to ***** to anyone who'd listen but it was really all about me and how I screwed up, just didn't know how to handle it. I eventually got so I kept it to myself and tried to remember what I did wrong and how to correct it. I developed a reputation for not saying a whole lot when I lost. We all have different ways of handling losing, or not, as the case may be. I try to be sympathetic because I understand just how frustrating it can be.
Have a nice day, everyone!
