This one is for SmorgassBored.......

One of our local good pool playing gamblers and table mechanic had a terrible accident yesterday.

While repairing a table a freak accident occured and the slate/table fell on his middle finger severing the first joint. The finger-joint could not be reattached.

Jerome Gambino is the person. Some of you may know Jerome from Gerald Huber's book, The Green Felt Jungle or you may have gambled with him in person. He is a fixture of the New Orleans pool scene and has always been so.

Jerome has been known to give up astronomical spots to lesser players and has outrun the nuts on occasion.

Upon being questioned about his future in gambling at pool, he reportedly held up his bandaged hand and remarked, "All future games will be adjusted accordingly".

Bridge hand or grip hand?

Met him a few times. What a character!

Hope he heals well and is back in play.

Probably not the first time someone named Gambino lost a finger at the knuckle, but probably the first time with Pool Slate.:D :D Good luck to Jerome, I hope he plays better with the abbreviated finger:)

A guy lost his finger in a industrial accident. After he got to emergency he called his wife and told her about the accident that cut his finger off. She replied back "That is terrible. Was it the whole finger?". He said "No! It is the one next to it."
