I am serializing my pool movie screenplay Roxanne's Game on my website/blog. Here is the script query that goes out to producers:

Missing the next shot may cost you a year's earnings -- making it may cost you your life.
The pool hustling world has never seen anyone like Roxanne. She blossoms from a naive, oversexed Jewish-American-Princess-Valley-Brat to become slicker than a roomful of high-stakes gamblers. For 20 years, she craftily navigates her supremely talented pool player/ lover through dangerous murky waters filled with eat-'em-alive pool sharks and merciless parasites.

ROXANNE'S GAME dramatizes the true story of two decades of her survival in an exotic, often hilarious, sub-culture inhabited by a carnival of shrewd, rowdy, and deceitful players who feed, but often dupe, their high-rolling backers. All of them loving the only lifestyle they'd ever want. It's also the story of a maturing teenage girl who learns that affection and love sometimes grow in places where there is no sunlight.

Awesome concept...would love to see it made. You've registered the script, correct? Definetly a good idea before you start posting it on your blog.

In a way, blogging the written material is a good way of obtaining original publishing rights (much like mailing a copy to yourself), but still, having a script floating around on the internet for anyone to manipulate might not be the best idea (especially if the script itself is a good idea).

I've been registered with the Writers Guild for a long time. Copyrighted, etc. I have even entered a few script contests, and once came in the final 32 out of several thousand entrants. Since I include myself later in the script, and actually participated in a few of the depicted scenes, it would be very hard for someone else to say he wrote it.

You and JohnnyT are the Earl & Efren when it comes to members here with a gift for writing. Both of your styles are so similar that it's almost uncanny. The very best part is the humor that is found in what you guys write. It's so gritty that it's funny!

When either of you write something, my only complaint is that I always want more.
 
I think it's a good idea putting it on the net on a pool rerated blog. You have to figure a few out of the 10,000 or so that will read it have to be in the movie biz or know someone that is. I just takes one person like that to read it and like it. Sounds like my kind of movie too. Johnnyt

Beard -- If you play pool as well as you write, you're way good. Take if from a guy who spent 30 years in big newsrooms, writing and editing. Yours is a rare talent.

I'm going to Hot Springs, Ark, for a short while, thursday. Take some mineral baths, bet horses at Oak Lawn Park, etc. So I'll put up another scene wednesday before I leave.

I hope it works out for you Freddy. I believe that if a great writer got together with a great director and did the Louie Roberts story it would a blockbuster on the big screen.
