Pool on ESPN classic now

I just tuned in to ESPN classic to see what pool they were showing. 6 STRAIGHT HOURS OF TRICK SHOTS. I feel like shooting myself. Thank god for tivo. Got some mosconi cup action so i can still get my fix.
 
I don't like these trick shot shows as much as other match footage, but I guess I'll make due.:)
 
Yeah wheelchair pool wasnt so bad, One of my closest buds was in a wheel chair, so that was nostalgic but the only thing worse than trick shot magic is speed pool. As many people in the US that play 8 ball why cant they show some 8 ball every once in a while.
 
Seems like tricks shots used to be alot more real stroke shots and a lot less BS. Power draws and follows , masses , jump masses , etc with just a few set up shots thrown in.

Seems like it's way more the opposite now , with way more silly props thrown in.
 
Go figure............. Why not some old Glass city footage of hillbilly and Kid............ or some old US open with Earl playing his heart instead of beating it.......hell even some Reyes or Pagulayen............


Im sick and tired of seein Allison vs. karen... or julie..... same old matchups............and yes... same old trickshots...................altho Erik Yow came a LONG way............Erik you rock and Jesus loves you!!!

Sorry bout that but ESPN isnt in my good graces til fall comes around with some NCAA football :)

Yeah these prop shots are sorry. i miss when massey used to use that power stroke of his and really juice the ball. U actually had to have a stroke to do the shot. not just set it up and hit it.
 
For freakin' just once , maybe ESPN can freakin show 1994 US Open, the whole match and no ticker tape.
And the Caesar's Palace tourneys then.

I remember a few years ago where Johnny Archer played the current wheelchair champion at the time and JA also played in a wheelchair. Archer eventually won, but he had to make some adjustments. Have to give those guys their props for overcoming....takes a strong willed person to not let a disability or anything else get in the way of the things you love to do. JMO.

So, who was competing in the trick shots? What competition and where? Sure wish I was at the SBE, right now. Would love to have been able to watch the trick shot competitions.

I love watching 8 ball and some of the other stuff, but the trick shot stuff takes some real talent. I'd like to see some of you guys make the shots they make. I know I sure can't do that stuff!

Anyway, could someone tell me what competition is/was on? I only have freebie tv, since we don't have time to watch enough tv to figure it's worth paying for. If we pay to watch anything, it'll probably be TAR.

The 1984 Caesars Palace Billiard Classic was taped for viewing on ESPN, but never shown. I don't know if that footage still exists. Earl beat Terry Bell in the Finals, and won $25,000! And that was 24 years ago! Richie Florence had pro pool on the right track until the players refused to sign the television releases for these shows. Another smart move by a few geniuses, and the end of Richies promoting career.

I have the Parica-Keith on tape. Very bad copy.
 
ESPN must have ran out of Spelling Bee competition.

I guess it could have been worse. They could have shown Allison beating someone again.
