My wife & I are planning to sail to Europe & fly back.

Are there pool tables on ships like the Queen Mary?

Interesting video. I wonder why they didn't get someone who can actually shoot to demonstrate!!

Only a select few cruise ships have pool tables. Queen Mary is not among them. The only ones I'm familiar with are some of the ships that cruise the Carabbean. I have been contacted by some of the lines, interested in "hiring" me for demonstrations.

Cruise ships have pool tables....self leveling tables.

BUT, you better take an extra Dramamine before shooting.

Take a look.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRhfcXxM79U

Strange. Is it me, or does the room seem stationary while the table alone floats?

Jim

Since the camera is sitting on the deck, it would move as much as the room. That's why it looks like the table is moving. It's all reletive to the camera, and the camera is "attached" to the room.

This is why people get seasick. If you are inside, your eyes tell you everything is normal, but your stomach knows better. A tip from someone who spent a few years floating around the Atlantic for my uncle Sam....If you are on a ship, the best place to be if you feel seasick is outside where you can see the horizon.

Gottcha.

Now, I'm getting dizzy.

if you drink a couple beers it will probably counteract the motion of the ocean and level out your shot! :barf:

Pool tables on cruiseships

I was an instructor for Royal Carribean Lines aboard 4 of their cruiseships that travel to the Carribean and Alaska. There were two self
leveling tables that cost $75,000 each on all 4 ships. They have since
stop providing instructors but I think the tables are still aboard. The tables
are truly amazing as sea conditions don't affect the balls with the self leveling system.
