Pool Room Compromise....

Awhile back i posted a thread thanking John for helping me in acquiring a pool table and introduced how things gets done in China (with loads of pictures). For those keen on checking it out, it's here

Well when i got the whole room set up and decorated (sort of..) my brother comes in and says he wants a place to showcase his vintage badminton racket collection...well it's either i compromise or risk coming into the pool room one day to pool balls mysteriously missing or cues with missing shafts..

Had all the display cases ready today and glass panels delivered so i spent the morning putting it up, Am pretty happy with the outcome, guess it didn't turn out as hideous as i thought it would've..

i was actually concern when i saw the rackets...after having them in a nice wood case it looked pretty cool...still it's not something i'd collect...then again if i collect rackets i'm sure i'll have more cash in my wallet...:(

Thanks art and flyspy. I still have a couple more rackets to frame up and I should be good.

i have never thought about collecting rackets, I really like it and I think its cool on the wall. too much pool stuff in a pool room can be too much. I like this collection on the wall. Nice room all together.

Hey

Hey Jive, That is one great looking room, and the rackets are definitely cooool. I have all kinds of junk hanging on my walls, I wish they looked as badass as those rackets do. way to go Jive

Cool looking room. What color is the cloth?

I assume there's plenty of space from the end rail to the wall. The rackets encased in glass are right at cueing height. :D

Thanks! My brother spent 3years buying from all over the world some magazine wanted to interview him so i had to give him the space hehe.

Was suppose to be a pool cum meeting room...i like the room too much now so meeting has to be done somewhere else..:p

I've seen your cue collection steve...it's Crazy...i'm not sure if there's a wall as befitting for those cues... if you were in China i would volunteer to make some cases for those cues...just so i can help you fix the cases up and try the cues when you're not looking.. :D

Yup, i was worried about them as well as i hung the cases up. No probs with a full follow through with CB at rail.

The cloth is called CPBA and is from a company in Taiwan, apparently is a pretty common cloth they use for tournys here in China and Taiwan. Good stuff, it's a regular 90/10 blend. The colour is sort of like a combination of Simonis Powder Blue and Tournament Blue. Pretty unique, i think it's a good shade 'cos it isn't too glaring and not too boring.

Hi Jive I like your room alot . The rackets are definately different and very cool . Jim:thumbup:

Hehe...i'm serious about the visit buddy!

Room looks great, and rackets are cool, but don't know if the cab poster goes with the flow. Just sayin.....
Nice cue too.

Thanks.
I did think about which poster to put up on that side of the wall and I have all kinds of posters stocked in my office, finally decided to go for a Retro, Photography and a Black & White one with one strong colour accent. Colour of poster was most important to me as several rackets were multi colour so I don't want too many colours going on or the wall will look "noisy"..
Had quite a few to chose from but I thought the Cab was cool. This is a picture of old Times Square and it's of the First official yellow cab in NY. On the opposite facing wall I have another poster of Times Square again but in modern days and in colour. Will take a picture soon of that.

You forgot to show off your Hello Kitty collection. ;-)

That's in my other pink room...this pool room is too small for my collection..I shouldn't have succumbed to your pleading to trade part of my hello kitty collection for your cue cases...the next time you grab my legs begging and crying till your pink mascara and eyeliner smudges again you ain't getting nothing!!
