Hi all,

Long time viewer, second time posting. I will be traveling in Chicago - going to Red Shoes and Milwaukee - going to Romines. Want to ask advice on where else to go in the Chicago area. Ive done the research online but would appreciate any personal thoughts on rooms in the area I should check out. Thanks in advance.

I heard they do a lot of "shooting" on Chiraq's southwest side. Only problem is the holes are in you. Seriously, last time there i felt like i was in Mosul. Romine's is a cool joint, btw.

If you felt like that, you brought it with you. Chicago’s no worse than most other big cities.

Murder rates dont support that.;)

I enjoyed my trip to Redshoes,on the south side. It doesnt matter where you go always be aware of your surroundings.

Chicago gets a bad rap - here are some US cities with higher murder rates. But you hear this Chicago meme way more than any of them:

Detroit
St. Louis
Memphis
Baltimore
Cleveland
Milwaukee
Oakland
Stockton
Indianapolis
Toledo
Anchorage
Washington DC
Albuquerque
Buffalo
Minneapolis

Which one had more shootings and the most murders? CHICAGO. Sorry, it's a rap that is well deserved. 80 years of liberal rule, I'm sure you'll get it right one of these days ;) Rome was not built in one day, lol

If you want the best pool room in the Chicago area.

Pyramid Pizza and Sports Bar. 236 W. Lake St., Addison, IL
(15 miles west of Chicago)

Don't let the name fool you. They have 16 Gold Crowns. Full Bar with dozens of beers. The place is HUGE.

They have a full restaurant menu, not just "bar" food. You can order from burgers to pasta to fish to ribs.

Oh, and they do have some of the best pizza in Chicago. You won't find the best pizza at the local "chain" places like Gino's East, Lou Malnati's, etc.

650 murders in 2017. I know a lot of Chitown is pretty safe but there are areas that the cops won't go in. SW side is a war-zone. The dangerous part of St.Louis is tiny compared to Chiraq's. Always feel safe there but Chicago and Detroit are scary places.

OK, you don't get statistics - lots of people don't.

Of course the places with highest populations have the most crimes of all kinds. It's the murder rates (# per person) that show which places are more dangerous.

...there are areas (in Chicago) that the cops won't go in.
lol That's one of the more obvious fallacies.

Do you realize that St. Louis (the city you feel safe in) has a higher murder rate than Chicago? Among the top handful, I think.

Oh, I get them, but you just don't get facts. Chicago is the murder capital based on one thing, the sheer number of murders. That's what counts. NYC is almost twice as big as Chicago and has less murders. How you like that statistic?

Yes, there are other dangerous cities, but only one that has been run by Dems for 80 consecutive years. Well played. I'm sure you'll get this shit under control in no time, I mean Rome was not built in a day. LOL

And the area in Chiraq where most murders take place is pretty small. Large parts of town are quite safe but certain south side neighborhoods are like a free-fire zone. Some late night shootings aren't even responded to until following day when its daylight.

Pool halls

OK enough about the murder rate. Let's focus on the positive's. Most visitors to Chicago love this city. Yes it has it's issues but yes a great place to visit.

Back to pool halls, you can also try Nick's, they have redone the place, added a couple of snooker tables and another 9ft Diamond.

Longshots in Joliet for tough bar box action.

I second this! Friday $5 tourney ran by 7time national champ, occasionally drawing some of the best around! At least least two other past champions play quiet often. Here it's not about money it's about pride! Jeff does a real decent job matching skill levels by cutting the bracket in half (hard and harder) lol 5$ open table 7ft diamonds, good food, can't go wrong!
