Pool still alive in Richmond Va.

I very very very much doubt that they are catering to POOL PLAYERS. If so, they will go out of business pretty quickly.

POOL PLAYERS, at least the ones I have heard whine.... want the following:

1. Perfect quiet. No music allowed.

2. They want $2.00 an hour table time..For TWO people..DURING ALL HOURS.

3. They want awesome food for the price of a McDonald's lunch. Including free refills.

4. They want the noisy groups of 4-5 people (buying hundreds of dollars of alcohol per night) thrown out, so they can fully concentrate on their $5.00 One Pocket game.

Everyone else, feel free to add to my list of what POOL PLAYERS want.. :D

Russ
I think all poolhalls could learn a thing or two from the Cue Club in Vegas. It's divided in half, a players side and a bangers side. Loud music and people over there. Players over here, where the tables are well maintained and the music not so loud.

Dang nabit!

Oh sure.. right when I move out of the Richmond area! Sounds like a great place to play. Looking forward to some pics.. of where I could have been playing. Doh!! :D

A buddy of mine moved there from Phoenix and I belive this is the place he is working at. He was telling me about how nice the room is etc. etc. He said they are hosting a Tiger event at the end of May.

If things turn out profiitable...(or at least close to break even) I may be on a plane down there for the tournament.

Hey Brknrun,

Yep, the Tiger Tour can't wait to visit Diamond Billiards. The date is May 31/June 1. Just one small pic so far. We'll be sure to have lots after the event. http://www.planet-pool.com/showroom.php?17

I'm not sure about this Chris fella. Nice guy and all but something just looks wrong with his stance...and he doesn't look lined up on the cue ball at all! See http://www.planet-pool.com/showpic.php?e=99?g=20071201?f=22.jpg?m=50 Mebbe he should grab that last pool school spot!

...wait... this one's a little better! http://www.planet-pool.com/showpic.php?e=88?g=20071208?f=15.jpg?m=74

The music was loud everywhere at night at that Cue Club in Vegas. I did not like the atmosphere at all in the evening. It was dangerous in the parknig lot area. Inside, there were women with tatoos and rings in their noses and eyebrows, looking like muscular biker chicks, and it seemed like everybody was smoking water pipes on the rail.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and you can keep the Cue Club in Vegas. I did not enjoy myself there at all.

Day time, it was completely different. There were not very many people inside, and there was no loud music, no bong smoking, no ladies with tatoos and rings coming out of every oriface. Day time was fine. Night time was like something out of Nightmare on Cue Street.

NO THANK YOU!

The tournament that they run on Friday is pretty cool. It is one based on chips. Depending on your ranking you are giving a certain number of chips. You play one game against a person if you win you get to stay on the table and rack for the incoming player. Each time you win you must rack for the incoming player. If you play and lose you lose one chip. Once you are out of chips you are out of the tournament. If you win you dont gain a chip you just get to stay on the table. I didnt think i would like it at first, but it pretty fun.

LOL.......He has a bit of a challenge when it comes to mechanics...He shoots left handed but he is right eye dominant...When he sets up it produces sort of a chicken wing elbow since he has to tuck his arm under to get the cue under his eye...(not as noticable in that picture)

I doubt he would ever attempt to change that since he does not have a problem making balls and moving the rock......(and its a natual action magnet when people see it)

He flew back to Phx yesterday for the Shootout this week...He came by and we hit some at my house ....He was telling me that this room is the flat out "nuts" as far as pool rooms go...

After talking with him last night...there is a real good chance I will be there for that Tiger event......I am looking forward to it. :D :D

It not often that i get this excited but man I have got to share this with everyone.

Richmond Va. Just got a new pool hall, let me restate that we got the pool hall of a lifetime. It is a beautiful room. new tables, wide chairs, cue lockers with key and lock for rent. This room caters to pool players.. they started of at 7 dollars an hour..but lowered their rate to 5 dollars. They have a tournament every friday where the owner of the pool room puts in addded 200 dollars every friday. They have a big break were tickets are a dollar a chance. The owner added a cool 1000.00 dollars to the big break. They had John Schmidt come in this past weekend and put on a heck of a show. The food is great. They just are doing everything right to make POOL PLAYERS happy. I have now made this room my room of choice. It is called DIAMOND BILLIARDS. It is located on Midlothian Turnpike (route 60)...if you are in richmond you can go to the Playing Field to see Todd Elkins of Parrot Cue to get cue work done, I love Todd to death and want to support him in everyway i can so The Playing Field is a great place to get a new tip, shop for a new cue, or just hang out with great people like TODD and RAYMAN....but if you wana play pool ...GOTO DIAMONDS ..HANDS DOWN THE BEST ROOM IN RICHMOND!! Ill stake my reputation on the forum on that one!!!!

How many tables? All 9', or a mix? What model(s)? Snooker table? Carom table? Perfectly levelled? Cloth stretched just right? Good, professional facings rather than lumpy shims? No dead spots in the rails?

LOL....wish I was at the cue club. I happen to like women with things sticking out of their face, tatoos, and bigger guns than me. Not!
