Pool Table on Wheels/Casters

I like the idea of having one big room for some reasons, but not a big fan the movie watching being over a pool table and so far away at 17-19 feet when optimal viewing says 8-9 feet.

I am still leaning toward doing this 2 different room setups, i feel like this "movie room" experience may be better.

For my new room setup, I would need to move the pool table out of the way (in one direction about 5 feet) and then back when playing. is this as simple as buying some casters and fastening them to the bottom of the four feet? do dealers ever do this type of setup/installation or is it all gonna be a DIY project? Anyone doing this and want to share their method?

9ft GC1 moved daily, for years now. Always goes back to level after it's moved back too.

I looked at doing something similar while setting up my room. Although I didn't want a home theater, per se, I thought I may want a different room to watch the occasional movie and daily sports. What I found out was that most of my friends or guests, even the ones specifically invited for a movie, almost always wanted to play pool at some point during the movie.

I finally gave up and settled on a greatly reduced seating area. Now the pool table has plenty of room and the couch chairs are fit tight to the TV ( couch is 6 ft. from the 65"TV)

Good luck with your room.

I see some sort of dolly under it, but can you share more details of what you use and how you move it exactly to the spot where its perfectly level.
There are several things that need to be considered when picking out a pool table that you can move all the time. Frame makes a big difference, that is what determines if your table is movable or not. If you really wanted to, you could just buy a Diamond 8ft ProAm and move it anytime you wanted to with a simple system.

need to move the table in 1 direction about 4-5 feet. (the wall in the picture, will likely just bet a heavy duty curtain.

I'm not putting that size table in a room that size as shown in the second image, you basically have 1/2 of a table to use seeing how the two video games machines are located.

The room as shown in the first one large room size will be fine for both tasks. Move the couch to face the TVs on the far wall, rotate the chairs around to face the TV when needed, push the TV screen a bit more to the corner of the room so you are not having the table as much in the way. Get a nice 7' table to not be cramped by the couch.

its the same room big 15'10" x 20' plus the bump out

the idea in that image is just a curtain up when the "movie room" is in use. I would move the pool table out of the way (like it is shown), move the chairs into position and open the curtain when its "movie room" time. the arcade machines are just an idea. nothing decided on that. gonna stick to the pool table and media chairs first. just still undecided.

easy and practical way is to find a way to raise up the height of the tv.

or have the tv hang from the ceiling and fold up. either near the wall or even over the pool table.

my 75 inch tv can be moved easily by two people. so set it on the pool table and just move the tv instead of the pool table.

How serious are you and your family for pool, and for movies? In other words, what do you think the frequency of use for each mode will be? That could help sway your answer on how to do this.

I know in my house, pool gets played daily. Movies once every 2 months on the couch while eating takeout. The rest of “tv watching” is on each person’s personal laptop watching whatever they want by themselves.

It’s tough to say I haven’t had a pool table since I was living in my parents house 20 years ago. I have a 7 and 10 year old. I have been trying to get a pool table room for a long time. We all love movies. I think they both get similar use.

Howdy All;

Almost 20 years ago (time not only has wings but upgraded to jet engines), in
the hills and hollers of SE Ohio. One of the places we'd go to had 2 tables 7'
and had to move them for various functions. They kept a transmission jack under
each table. Marked spots for the feet and a 4' level for "Jest ta be shure" chucklin'

Problem with a home table vs a bar table, there's no frame to jack up under a home table, like there is on a commercial bar table, so apples to oranges.
