Pool Time Radio Show

I have the opportunity to host a local radio show about pool in the Kansas City metro area. It's something I did for a few months back several years ago and it was a blast. It only lasted for a few months but it was an educating experience. I will have a co-host too and it should be fun.

The show will run weekly every Sunday evening from 5pm to 6pm central beginning this week. It will cover a variety of topics concerning the pool world and industry. Some of it will be local but there will be a national and even international flavor. Some of the topics will also be what is hot on AZ billiards. I may even tackle aiming systems on air with someone from each camp to weigh the pro's and con's of using a system. It might make for interesting radio :)

One of the segments that I'm going to do is a product review. If you have a product that you would like be reviewed send me a pm on AZ. My co-host and I will try it out and give it an honest review. The inventor or maker of the product will have an opportunity to be live on the radio to talk about his/her product. The product could be anything pool related from a book, to instructional dvd, etc.

For the first show, we will be reviewing Tor Lowry's Zero-X Kicking System.

The show will be aired live to the metro area and can be heard online and via a podcast. If you are interested in advertising, shoot me a pm. Rates are very reasonable.

aiming system for kicking on the radio?? wouldnt that be like modeling clothes on the radio??:):) just kiddin should be interesting to say the least

I have the tunein app on my phone so I'll be listening. I'm always dumbfounded that as of right now TAR has the only pool podcast. Podcasting was made for niche sports like pool.

LOL, yep! It's called extreme visualization. :) It should be fun if nothing else.

Darryl , congrats on your strong finish in Springfield.

Thanks! Hopefully I can carry the momentum over to Olathe this weekend.

Cool, I think it will be a lot of fun. I'm going to try to get a few interviews this weekend from the Shooters tournament. Plus this will also air live in the KC market.

Have to check it out.

Sounds interesting Darryl. Kathy and I will give it a good listen. Will you be monitoring any web sites?

Since I'm old enough to remember the Lone Ranger, Sargeant Preston of the Youkon, and the Shadow, I think your radio show is a capital idea.
It will cause the listeners mind to visualize the spoken word. Good luck. :)

I'm working on getting the podcasts up on my website. Through our first 3 shows it's been a blast. Last week we had some tech issues lol but it's all fun.

Tonight's show will have local legend player Jeff Knapp guest hosting as Todd has a birthday party to attend. We are going to talk to Paul Gerni about being a trick shot artist, the effects of the economy on his trade, and what he has been up to. I'm going to also talk some about the SVB vs Jesse Match  the APA DQ of the 9 ball team (which should be interesting since one of my sponsors is APA), and other topics.

If you are in the KC area, you can listen live on 102.9 FM or 1140 AM or can listen online via http://tunein.com/radio/KCXL-1140-s32214/. Feel free to call in at (816) 792-1140 (station number) if you have any questions about topics, or want to talk to Jeff or Paul. The show is live from 5pm to 6pm Central every Sunday.

Darryl

The show has been uploaded to my website @ http://www.dsmithpool.com/PoolTime.aspx

It has the last 3 shows. Last night's show might be our best so far, Manny Perez local jr national champion was in the studio. Tom Watters (cue collector and dealer) was also interviewed. Any and all comments are welcome. Critical or not, I'm not afraid! Ok maybe a little. Anyway, let me know what you think and any ideas to improve the show.

Don't know if i'll be able to catch your first show , but good luck . I have been watching the freebie videos of Tor's on YouTube and think he has good video quality . Something smart i think he did was film the actually demonstrations then narrated over them . I think it is better than having someone being filmed and demonstrating hen speaking all at one time. Don't think i'm qualified to critique the content but i've learned from the free stuff and when i get a few extra dollars i'll buy the download .

This is just a little related. Legends and Champions Tour is in Twin Falls Idaho for a exhibition/show tonight at the Pocket starting at 7.30pm. This moring we were up WAY early and did 4 radio interview with Darren Appleton and Nick Varner. It was kinda cool to be on the morning drive live radio. When we got done with one we were ushered to the next studio We did the country station, Talk Radio, Smooth oldies and the Snake??? Just saying not to hijack the OP. Way cool though :)

That's cool! I think any publicity is great and pool could sure use it. Shoot me a pm sometime, I would love to have you on the show to talk about your legends tour. Just off topic, Twin Falls Idaho is the only place in America where it is legal to base jump off the Perrone bridge.
