Pool tournaments and social media complaining.

cleary

Honestly, I'm a liar.

It sure is easy to find out how pool players are doing at a tournament based on their Facebook status updates or Twitter tweets.

When they lose, it looks like this:

but when they win, it looks like this:

It's not just Mika, he's just an example because he tends to cry and prove my point after every match... But COME ON DUDE! If you lose, lose like a man. If you win, win like a man. You never see "I got out played" or "He played good". It's either "I won" or three paragraphs of crying about the rolls, the table, pattern racking, getting sharked, the magic rack sucks, the balls suck, the music etc etc etc etc!!!!!!!!

I have seen Warren post and he has lots of class from what I have seen and from being around him, some actually see things clearly.

Man, how do you all have time to keep up with Twitter? I barely have time to keep up with AzBilliards and Facebook. :embarrassed2:

My daughter says nobody uses Facebook anymore. It's old-fashioned. Today, everybody tweets and texts each other for instant gratification. I don't think I've ever tweeted im my life, but I did open a Twitter acount when it first came out.

Tweet, tweet.

A LOT of people use Facebook. It's not old-fashioned in the least bit. A tweet is the same as a status update. Basically the same site.

Famous tweets:

Earl: My opponent got lucky

Efren: I got lucky

Alex P: I won even though I couldn't reach the rack

Van Boening: I broke okay.

others?

Just curious, but what are the advantages to Twitter over Facebook or vice versa?

I do remember that one can only tweet 140 characters on a Twitter post/message, whatever you call it, so that is one difference, I guess. :)

Facebook has more versitality as far as the person's Facebook page amenities, photo albums, likes/dislikes, friends.

By the time I get to tweeting, I'm sure something new and improved will come along. :o

I am thinking that Twitter would be easier to use for the beginner than Facebook.

Kids aren't using it because all of their parents (and grandparents) are on there, exchanging cute pictures and inspirational stories.

Personally, letting my high school girlfriends stalk me is totally worth turning my personal information over to a corporation for them to sell to other corporations. :thumbs up:

You basically just answered your own question. It's the same thing but facebook has the page, photos, etc.

Here's an inquiry: Which pro player utilizes social media the most? :grin-square:

I dunno who uses it the most, but John Morra has also chimed in on Facebook today...

It's really becoming fascinating, watching how some pro's manage their public images.

This stuff is too good. One of the reasons I always try to think through my words after I lose a match. I want to convey that maybe things could've been better, but it's a cheap shot when you downplay the role that your opponent had. It's like always saying, "He didn't beat me, I beat myself." Even if it's true once in a while, it just jerkish when it's said all the time.

IDK why they can't just say "You know what, today he beat me. But NEXT TIME, I promise you he's getting the worst of it, because I'm going to practice my ASS OFF." Is that so F-in hard?

its MIKA what else did you expect? He cries if a anyone is in the room or he hears a car driving by outside.

Raj Hundal is the worst. I've never seen him say that he played bad.....it's always the rolls....the table....the other guy got lucky....etc.....

The worst is when the streamer invites one of them into the commentary booth. Of course, only players who are eliminated are willing to do commentary.

So, I'm trying to watch a match and they're rambling on and on about their bad rolls, bad luck and how they actually played much better than the 11-0 score indicated.

The one time I heard EarlS in the commentary booth he was actually very good. Of course he was very knowledgeable about the game, but also very complimentary of other players and not hesitant to criticize himself.

I love how Earl always bigs-up Shane and Jayson on their skills, everyone thinks he's a douche but he actually appreciates talent...when his mind is right of course.
