Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

Got my notice from paypal that Jay shipped mine to me yesterday ... Got the notice at 3:11 am this morning I was in the middle of playing pool with some friends on the table here at home. Dang Jay must be working over time ... Just think of the Itrader Jay will get off this it will sky rocket through the roof...:grin-square:

Ming and I packed off about 80 orders today. Maybe 200 left to go.
I had one small problem on a few early orders. I sent them Priority mail in large manila envelopes. The postman told me you must send Priority mail in their special pre-marked envelopes. I'm not sure what will happen with those few orders (maybe three or four like that). This only applies to orders where someone ordered two books or more (domestic mail only). Priority was no more expensive than First Class in these cases.

If you have one of these orders and are required to pay additional postage, let me know and I'll reimburse you. Sorry about that.

Don't feel bad. She kicked my ass last night. I had her 4-1 and lost 9-6. I told her we had time for one set, then we go back to packing books. Afterward, she sat there and helped me pack books for about three hours. Tomorrow our goal is to do 100 more. If we can do 80-100 a day, I'll be caught up by the time we leave for San Diego on Wednesday.

ALL ORDERS right now are going out First Class mail or Priority in the case of multiple orders (two or more books). So once they're in the mail, it shouldn't take long to get there. Will be working on February orders (over 200 total) all day today and tomorrow. Won't even get to the March orders (another 200) until Monday. By the way, I'm dropping off the books at the main post office, so that saves more time on shipping also.

At least we have books finally. It was SO frustrating waiting and checking on them every day. When the books arrived, they were at a shipping dock in Montebello, all the way across L.A. and it was Thursday afternoon. They had scheduled a drop off for the next day at my home in Lawndale, but I asked them if I could come and get them. I drove my pick-up truck across town on surface streets (one hour each way) to get my hands on them. It wasn't an easy place to find either.

I was SO happy when the shipping guy drove that forklift with MY pallet of books and laid them on the back of my truck. Every box had a label that said POOL WARS in big letters. So cool, I FINALLY had some real books! I was elated all the way back across town.

I have to say I'm thrilled to see all the names (with your AZ name) and where everyone is from. It tells me how popular pool is all over the country. The majority of the orders are from back East, places like Mass., New York, the Carolinas, Ohio, Georgia, Delaware and Florida. It's very cool to me to see so many pool players everywhere. I swear if I could, I would hand deliver every one of them. Wouldn't that be cool? I could write another book about that trip.

When Ming wakes up (she's zonked) we go back to work.

Well since you can't hand deliver mine I will settle for you having Ming do it:grin:

I beat Ming 9-6 tonight. I know this has absolutely nothing to do with anything you wrote but heck, I just wanted to say it.

We go back to work in the morning packing more books for a Monday shipment. For those of you who ordered in February from overseas (Hong Kong, Germany, Russia, United Kingdom, Canada <Yep>) most of those orders have gone out. The postman told me 10-15 days on these orders. I shipped them all with a Customs sheet that said they were gifts. I was told this was the best way to get thru customs.

If you ordered by mail back in February, your book(s) are at the post office now. We are still working to complete the mailing on all the Paypal orders for Feb. That should be done on Monday. Then we can dig into the March orders.

Give me a break. I'm still learning how to draw my ball at the post office. :o

Cool, our first authenticated arrival. Let me know how you like it.

If you ordered via Paypal in late February, all those books go out today via First Class mail. The bulk of our orders were back in February. I start on all the March orders tomorrow.

My number 25 arrived today. On page 40 already and hard to put down. But I have to. I don't want to eat this gourmet meal like wolfing down a Big Mac. Have to make it last a while.

Someone must have cached my two signed books.

JoeyA (impatient today)

(OK, It's here and it looks darn good, imo.)

Awesome!!

Well, I just got to home to find my copy waiting for me in the mailbox. It looks very good. Some great pics, and just by skimming it briefly I know I am going to burn through this in a day or two! I don't think I will be able to put it down!

Thanks again Jay for writing a great book!

I got # 13/500.

Count me one very happy customer!:happydance::happydance::happydance:
