Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

Wonderful

69 / 500

Great writing, quick and to the point, no dragged out stories that get boring.

Great pictures placed where they should be, in the part of the storey your reading.

Trying to read mine in little bits so I don't finish it to quick.

Thinking of who up at the pool hall I frequent, that dosen't go on AZ because their older and afraid of computers, should I let read this book.

Some of the guy's I hang with were around when Cornbread was around, one of the guy's used to drive him home because he didn't have a car.

Anyhow................Jay, GREAT JOB !!!

Thanks, Tommyd1

91/500 showed up at my door yesterday. Took a quick flip through and it looks great! Snow day today, so time to settle in with a great book!

#103/500 arrived here in NW Indiana yesterday, a bit damaged, but readable. I'm through the first 50 pages and can't wait to read the rest. Great job Jay!

I got mine yesterday. I was driving around town & reading the dang thing. If I'da got killed in a wreck, I could blame it on Jay!

I loved the story on the hustle on Stigall with Valley Street Red. "I knew I was about to witness a killing". I could damn near see ur naive little teenage puckered ass cowering under a table!

Anyway, I only got thru @ 35 pages. I will save the book for my flight out to LA tomorrow and proffer my critique to you in person! Sure as hell will beat reading Skymall magazine for 5 hours! ;) Cya soon Jay.

Jay shipped mine Saturday and I received it yesterday! #140/500. I read about 30 pages last night, great stuff so far. I can't wait to read the rest. Thanks Jay!

I got mine last night, read to page 63, about where Jay's brother Bruce passed away...

It's a good, light read and the stories are great. Good job, Jay!

Uh...I don't think you should be telling what is in the book. I didn't even know he had a brother.

Don't tell anyone how the movie ends! Okay, I catch the bad guy, I get the girl and we drive off into the sunset. :groucho:

I wish!!!

I got mine yesterday in the mail and I am done. Could not put it down. I have copy #17. thanks Jay for the great read and will buy the next one tooooo.

got mine last night and read a lot of it before I went to bed. Great read. It was neat to read about guys I have heard about and even some I have interacted with or met. It was funny to see that a guy named Marshall Carpenter won the 1962 Johnston City one pocket tourney and thinking to myself wow, I saw that guy playing one pocket in Mobile a few years back and somebody calling him Tuscaloosa Squirrel. He was hopping around the table like he was 30!

Just walked in the door and my book was in the mail box ... could'nt wait to open it ... Flipped through it checking out some the pics of the older players ... Boy was I surpised on page 57 in the odds and ends section to find the new 100.00 bill tucked in there ... Must be some kind of promotional item Jay did'nt tell anyone about ...

Thanks Jay ... looks like a great read I can't wait to get started... 106/500
