Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

I just read your Paypal order. It appears as if you and Steve are the same person. You did not state that you wanted it signed to Fast Lenny. Sorry about the mix up. I will be glad to send you another numbered book signed to you, less shipping charges. $19.95 total.

Tell Bill I say hello. He was a very strong shortstop, took a real player to beat him. I saw a few try and fail. Bill Mielke originally came from the Milwaukee area.

P.S. Tell Bill he is in the book. The story about our horrendous accident on the way to Reno. Let him tell you about it. He was in the front seat with me. We got off easy. Keith and Cecil did not fare so well.

I will ask him about the story Jay, he is a character that is for sure, see him every Friday night and I will say hello for you. No problem about the book brother, will send you Paypal for my copy with my address this time. :p

Just finished the book jay. Loved the stories. It was good to get some background on why some of these tours failed. I was always curious as to what happend to the camel tour. I guess now I know. Wish these pros could get there act together. BTW i loved the story about yall taking down the craps table in vegas. I just got back from there and made enough on the craps tables to buy a new jack justis  Great book. Itll be the first one I reccomend to anyone who loves pool.

Just great! So there's a story about craps tables? I'll skip that chapter when it arrives. I just single-handed took the Greektown Casino in Detroit out of bankruptcy playing craps there. On my way down home now a poorer but wiser man.

I started the book on Monday and finished it Wednesday. I was very busy at work so it took me a little longer than I expected. lol. Anyways, the book was AWESOME! Now you need to get out and write another Jay. I'm sure you've got plenty more stories to share with us and we're ready to read them!

I got the book my friend. It's a very nice Easter gift. Happy Easter my man Jay Helfert. See you in Manila at end of May.

Next time... write better pls. After 500 books, you will. :D

Jay, got started on the book at 9pm last night.....read two straight hours before I realized I had to get some shut eye.....very well written, reads like a story and flows well....thanks for all your efforts....the stories are priceless.....so hard to put down....

Thank you sir....

Jay, I finished reading the book last night. I must say, after reading about your brave run-ins with drug dealers, bikers and other roughnecks, you surly must have balls of steel ... or possibly, brains of mush. :D

I enjoyed it very much. This will be highly recommended reading.

Back then I didn't care who they were. I just wanted to play pool (for money!).

Hey Jay! I'm almost done with this. Great book! I love reading all your stories. Glad to see you mentioned Dan Louie! Next time I see him, I'll ask him if he wants me to order a book for him, I know he'll enjoy the book.

Paid for my book Jay. Can't wait to receive it. Did you write a small paragraph about how you robbed me for $500 upon the advent of these TAR matches?

Jay is not a big guy! But damn, he got out of some fixes that most would have (and maybe should have) cowered from.

Dude's got nuggets and knows how to carry himself.

BTW, if anyone is still reading this thread and hasn't got ahold of the book, you're seriously missing out.

Just a heads up. I will be doing book signings at Robin Dodson's (the Frog jump cue) booth at the BCA championships in May from the 9th thru the 16th. Stop by and say hi if you get a chance.

373/500 made it here (Hungary) today. Quite fast, I don't mind saying. Thanks Jay! I am on page 21 now ...

I've been shipping all overseas orders via International Priority Mail. A few dollars more, but they guarantee delivery in 5-10 business days. Strangely enough, it takes just as long to get a book to Canada First Class mail. I've been told the delay is in Canadian Customs, not the actual mail service.

Word on the street is that the Canadian Customs Agents are reading POOL WARS before sending it along to it's proper destination. There are just a few more Canadian Customs Agents who have not read POOL WARS, so delivery in Canada should speed up soon.

Petard totally agrees

Jay has written a great book which i thoroughly enjoyed. Despite being at johnson city every day while allegedly a student, jay revealed inside stories i had not heard that were humerous and informative. Jay, if you could only play!!!!!!

the pool world is going to be in for a very pleasant surprise.

I'm reading the book pool wars , a non-fiction creation by jay helfert right now and it is far more than i hoped for. Each and every story rings of the truth and it is as if you were there with him on each accounting. Jay has done a superb job of writing what i think is one of the best, if not the best pool book i have ever read. Right now, i am only half way through with lots more to go and time will tell if i think it is the best pool book written, ever. It will only be my opinion but all i can say for the moment, is i'm impressed, sincerely.

From the moment i started reading the book, i was mesmerized. I read half the book in one very long sitting.

Jay's book captivated me and it will captivate pool aficionados everywhere.

It will likely create some wannabee pool players for sure.

I've been around pool for quite a while now and i know a good and true pool story when i hear one. Jay tells it like it was as he brings you from one fascinating story to the next.

I'm going to stop now because i have to save some of my thoughts for something else i am working on for jay.

all of you are in for a real treat, and that i can promise you.

Thanks Jay!

I am sending out numbers 428 thru 433 tomorrow. So we still have over 60 left from the Limited Edition run of 500. You will still be able to get a signed copy after that but it won't have a number on it.

Any dealers out there who are interested in selling this book can contact me for wholesale prices. jayhelfert@yahoo.com

I leave for my cruise tomorrow so I can finally start to read the book. Book review when I get home next week.

One of my friends left his copy with me so he didn't have to carry it around. I finished the book in two days and couldn't put it down.

Love the book, Jay! Loved all the brawls:thumbup: and stories. Especially about Keith and Louie Roberts.

I also enjoyed that I felt I could relate too so many stories in your book and actually visualize things that you went thru.

Can't wait for the next one!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
