Pool Xmas Gift Ideas

Hey since it tis the season what kind of pool related gifts are you guys giving and wanting for Christmas this year? I was trying to think of some stuff that I might want in terms of books, videos and accessories. I am happy with my cue and my case so I wanted to give my friends and family some small ticket items to get me. I'm thinking about a cue extender, but I'm not sure which is best.

Insert cheap plug here:

(FYI, this is verbatim from our November MySpace blog post about our holiday sale)

We all know the economy sucks this year and you're gonna cut back on your holiday spending. Well since that new cue or case is out of the question as gifts for you pool playing buddies or loved ones, why not consider picking up some more reasonably priced PoolTees.com gear. We got a little something for everyone, from baby onesies to adult 5XLs. And now's a great time to order since our FREE SHIPPING Holiday sale is now in effect.

Oh, and if you just have no clue what shirts you think your gift recipient would like or what size they are, consider getting them a PoolTees.com gift certificate.

Thanks for reading!

I told my wife that I'd like a copy of the 3rd edition of the Billiard Encyclopedia, then gave her the advertising card I received in the mail advertising them at the Blue Book Publishing website. If you order from them, they send along a free copy of the 3rd edition of the Blue Book. Hard to pass up a free $40.00 book.

I have some 8 and 9 ball magnets, 8 and 9 ball ornaments and a measle ball. Some cue gloves, a set of 15 balls and a cueball ornament set made of the same phenolic resin as the real balls but, much smaller. A set of 4 pool (medium size) drinking glasses still in the box (tho box is a little worn). I guess the coolest things I have are the 8 and 9 balls that look like they are going through the windshield of your car. They are made by Defective Sports. I was thinking of putting these items in the 4 sale section or ebay. I just don't really have the time. You asked so don't get mad at me for being in the wrong section...

Gary is right on with this suggestion....either of the Alex/Shane DCC matchups is well worth the $$$. Great pool and great commentary! Thanks TAR!

Perhaps I should have qualified my statement a little more. I want to make sure I get one that does the job, but also and most importantly doesn't mar my cue in any way. The action report dvds are a good idea.

Here's a cheap gift for everyone on your league team:

Plastic chalk boxes that hold 3-4 pieces of chalk. They fit tightly together and keep the chalk dust out of your case pockets.

Check out Royce's posts:

I ordered a bunch, threw on a self-promoting sticker, stocked 'em with (3) pieces of Master blue chalk, and my teammates went ga-ga over them.

Thanks to Royce for a quick turnaround!

Well it looks like late February we will be heading to the East Coast, Ny, Nj, Boston, Baltimore etc. Then maybe Florida and then back a little closer to home for me. New Mexico, AZ, It is hard to try to make plans too far ahead as tourneys keep popping up or other opportunities so I have to get each leg of the tour set up in around 2 weeks and leave a month to promote it and get the pool school students booked.

I've had several wives, girlfriends, mothers, etc contact me for Christmas gift certificates for lessons. I'm sure there are other instructors who offer the same thing.
Looks like I may be pretty busy come January!

Alice Rim is sponsored on tour by a company called Castillo Leather Goods. They are great sponsors of pool, and I bought a few things from them last year. They have some really cool pool nick nacks and other stuff that any pool enthusiast would enjoy having. If you get a chance, check out their site.
