Poolhall Junkies--Christopher Walken is awesome

I didn't watch any of the movies you referenced, however they are fantasies, this is not meant to be. I also do not need instructions on how to watch a movie, thank you anyway. This movie has zero redeeming qualities. If the only argument is that Christopher Walken is in it, then that is not enough for me. I certainly can and do suspend belief in the name of entertainment when it is worth it, In this case it is not.

P.s. I never said anything about the color of money, although it is not great it is light years from this movie.

^This! PHJ is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was painful to watch.

It is and clearly targeted for non pool players, or teens
The thing starts off with the explanation of er and ah used with the n word and why the white boy may not say it
Garbage

The only movie I've watched more times than PHJ is Rad. Therefore, it is the 2nd best movie ever.

This movie is garbage!

I hated the male lead, as well as the female lead. Their performances were wooden and lame, furthermore I did not sympathize with their plight even a little bit. The script was all over the place and seemed hastily thrown together. Walken was the only one who (slightly) improves this pos movie. I shouldn't say that, some of the filming (actual shooting) of the pool action was pretty decent, though I didn't like the actual game situations. Didn't seem realistic or very exciting to me.

The problem with this movie is it doesnt transcend the billiard subculture. If you dont shoot pool, you probably hate this flic. I say it gets 2 cue balls out of 5. Its watchable but not good. Id put it in the same category as The Hangover 3.

I think most of you should stick with Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, and such.....maybe never leave the house again for fear of your Aristocratic senses being, well........

Why does everyone hate this movie?

I watched it once and Walken is in my top 3 actors; i just cant stomach it. Rick Schroeder and the "Hustler" shirt guy have to be some of the worst actors ive ever seen. Id rather see Earl trying to sweat out those lines just to see some real stroke.

At least The Color of Money and The Hustler had realisitic stories and good acting. Thats what makes them special to the pool world and timeless. Fast Eddie Felson is a name that will encircle pool rooms forever.

Didn't the guy in the Hustler shirt write the screen play to the movie? I remember something like that. I may be wrong, but he wrote and played the lead in his own film. That's pretty awesome in my book! Good for him..

Mars Callahan, yes he wrote, directed, and starred in the film. He's a pool player and also a poker player, he's played in a number of WSOP Main Events. He cashed 94th in the 2011 WSOP for $64K.

People like to hate on this movie, but I love it! And Walken is a big reason why. No idea how they got him on board for this one.

Christopher Walken was on board the yacht SPLENDOUR in November 1981. That was the same night that Natalie Wood drowned.
