Portland, OR - any good poolhalls?

122 nd and Powel SE Portland Don't remember the name .

Classics..........

(edit) Some years ago, went to Portland with my honorary nephew...he a pretty good shortstop, but no world beater. Rialto was going to have a tournament, so we first went there one afternoon. Kind of a fern bar, mostly downtown business crowd. We played a bit, then he told me of a better action place...Classics.

There shortly after pulling in the lot, I was told to keep our cues in the car. That changed as soon as Glenn Atwell pulled into the lot right after us. Glenn & Matt went at it for a few sets, me "lending" Matt some cash. (I don't want to be a backer). Anyway, a fun afternoon...they played out even, split the cost of the table time.

So, if you like Fern bars with nice gold crowns..Rialto downtown. If looking for action, probably Classics.

I wish I had the time to find Classics. Sounds more like a pool room

It is...google it. If you go there, keep your eyes open. Not the best PDX neighborhood, if you get my drift. Which leads me to Portland itself. I live 100 miles south..and these days, I have to have a pretty strong reason to venture into the Portland Metro area...It's no longer the great little city of 40 years ago...

(edit) But that's just me...I'll defer to local knowledge.

I bounced between Seattle and Vancouver last summer. Only real room I got to visit was near Anaheim Ca

lol wut. Anaheim is no where near Seattle and Vancouver unless you take a hell of a detour

Uh..there is a Vancouver in Washington State. Just across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon.

Don't feel bad...lots of Eastern USA folks get confused about that. Evidently, Southern Cal folks too...

Say wut? It doesn’t matter which Vancouver your talking about, neither one is even close to California let alone SoCal.

Classic and Sam's for sure.

Two more possibles. Katz Billiards in Forest Grove, and if you happen to be in Salem,
I love the Cue Ball. Old school....
