I talked to Kevin in the middle of March about having my J/B tuned up.....I had several requests, and Kevin had no problem handling the task at hand.....I asked Kevin about what an approx. charge would be for my requests, Kevin responded don't worry about it ....I shipped the cue off on 03/19 received the cue back on 04/04 ( I just picked up the cue today I was out of town).....thats 16 days and lets not forget the 5 to 6 days of travel both directions....I just want to say that is EXCELLENT customer service in my opinion, and Kevin did a perfect job on my cue......I also want to add that I contacted Kevin through Craig aka Irish634 about sending Kevin some money for the return shipping, Kevin's response was you don't owe me anything. I just wanted to shine some positive light on Mr. Varney ...He definately knows how to take care of his customers...Thanks also to Craig also for speedy replies to my pm's....

Top notch repair service, but when I pay up front, I don't expect to have to communicate through anyone but the vendor and I shouldn't have to. If you are an employee of the shop, that's another story. Last time I checked, KV's a one man shop. Moot point anyway from here on out. Too bad though. Turned my cue into something it should have been from the start. I'm sure there are quite a few Predator SP's that received similar wake ups.

Hi Tim,

You are correct that one should not have to use a go between to get answers. But things do happen. I was only trying to offer some assistance when Kevin's pc was down. I help him when he is unable to access the board, which is only 2 times now.

When I talked to Kevin about posting his telephone number and or giving it out, he thought it best for me to compile a list from what I could get from the board and then contact these people individually rather than KV being flooded with telephone calls.

It may not be the best method, but I was glad to help get answers for those that I could.

Thank you,
Craig

thats mainly due to an unforseen problem. u were never required to contact kevin through an intermediary before his computer broke.

like i always said , consider kevin a friend and a gun person as myself , always the good guy , but thing happen in life more important the pool cues being late . whenever someone orders or buys something custom there is always a 50% chance something will go wrong , as in kevins case ,family troubles and he is a 1 man shop .i think all the folks *****ing and moaning should just go to a damn billiard shop and buy a off the rack meucci or mcdermott if you cannot wait on a custom . get real .

kevin im with ya man . here to help if i could .

That's a great story of customer service. I have worked with other cue makers that want to nickle and dime you for everything and still can't touch this kind of service. Kudos Kevin! :)

with the exception being the couple of times he threatened members here.

am i the only one that noticed even being behind on orders with customers waiting he still had time to make "unspoken for" cues

but despite that i have spoken to a couple of people that own his cues and apparently they do hit well.

as for the threatening part nobody knows the real whole story but the parties involved , and kevin making cues and having a business has nothing to do with arguments between people. hell i run a farming business and have had to threaten dumbasses in the past for whatever reason , the business part has nothing to do with it ,it is what any man or anyone would do to protect themselves. specially this day and time ,the damn world is nuts and nobody knows what some nutjob will do .

Lets get something straight here. I was never REQUIRED to contact KV through an intermediary, so I don't get your point. Contact was offered through an uncompensated agent. And I declined. Why would I honor anything coming from an uncompensated agent ????

i have no clue about any threats, but your post just made me laugh.something about the farming and threatening dumbasses was just funny.

not being negative, just saying it was a classic post.

u were referring to the fact that people had to talk to irish634 in order to get to kevin. u said that to you, if you are paying for a cue upfront u should never have to talk through an intermediary. my point is that with regards to kevin, there was never a requirement to talk to him thru someone else. everyone was able to contact him directly except for a week or so cuz of unforseen circumstances i.e. his comp broke. and since this problem was never the case, there was no point in bringing it up.
