Now Lenny you should not be going into thift shops, you make pool players look bad and who knows who you'll run into, like a Rambow, Balabushka, Samboti's and you don't want that, they tell stories!

It's a nice Willie Hoppe Titlist, but not a Rambow.
4 glaring things to me saying it's not.
Still a fantastic cue though.

I don't know where I know of him from, but it seems like out west there somewhere.

the cost would be to stop Doug from talking about tips for 1 hour.
I'm on his league team this coming session.
I have a guy from work joining us,he does not know Doug so i'm going to tell him to ask Doug what tip he thinks is best.
Just for those of you that don't know Doug he is a very nice person but just a little too obsessed with tips.

I have been in touch with Deno Andrews and have sent him some pictures. He says it's possible it may be a cue built by Rambow but would need to see it in person. His opinion and LOA do not cost anything. He will appraise cues over $3000 for $300. Super nice guy. If it is a Rambow I am debating having it repaired and restored by Proficient but have been told to keep it original even with the brass nailed shoddy joint repair.

In many cases all original is better, but this cue needs restoration
If that gouge under the letter 'D' isn't too deep, Scott may be able to save the signature.
That cue would really look cool restored

Don't send it to Proficient for that work, just leave it alone. Putting cash into it won't raise the value. If you want to play with it, see if Hercek will make a shaft and buff it up for you.

However, the markings don't make it a Rambow. Looks like a 'special order' Hoppe Professional to have a name adorned.

I agree.

Though I am far from an expert. The cue appears to be a Brunswick personalized cue.

Light cleaning/polishing is appropriate. And a fresh shaft can really bring the cue to life while allowing the others to remain in their current state.

If a reliable expert identifies and certifies this as a Rambow I would love to know the technical points of the cue that contribute to that opinion, if for no other reason than my own education.

It might be nice to get an antique Brunswick leather case to go with it. That's what I did for mine. Those cases themselves are getting harder to find in nice condition and pricey (I don't mean the laminated "cardboard" ones).

Deno is always a CLASS ACT and extremely knowledgeable about many things!

Personally, I wouldn't have it repaired or restored but that's me...
