Possibly looking for new layer'd tip to use

Ok, with my recent problem with my moori tip again with it glazing over after being scuffed up, it made me start to search possibly for another layer'd tip to start to use.

While everyone has thier opinion, I try to go in with a open mind when having a new tip put on my cue.

Here's a list of the layer'd tips I am considering, and please give your info or review if you have used these tips before, honesty is always welcome, so feel free to vent lol.

Hercules

Hercules 2

Sniper

Everest

Tiger- medium or soft

Tiger Dynamite - I have used before and like!

Sterling

Diamondback

Kamui
 
After using a MOORI for years, I've switched to an Everest just because it came on my 314-2 and I really like it. Either one is fine with me.
 
Tips

I have used a Hercules medium hard layered tip for several years (The one with 11 layers, not 23), and have had no problems with it. Solid hit, good spin, good control on stun shots.

Someone on here recently said in a thread that the Hercules is identical to the Talisman's tips, even down to the stamp on it.
 
I like Snipers. When installed correctly, work very well. If you search the forum there are many threads on this.

Good luck making your choice.

Of course my favorite is the Sniper, but they're really expensive here in Japan. I put a kamui on my spare shaft as a cheap alternative to a Sniper, and I'm pretty impressed. Holds chalk well, very easy to shape, and the Med. has a nice feel to it. For those that like the older Morris, the Kamui might come close to what you're looking for.

Just buy a Sniper and forget about it!
 
I have been pleased by Sumo, Moori S, Sniper and Kamui M.

I've used (genuine) Mooris and Kamuis without ever having a problem and really like them. There's lots of counterfeit Mooris out there that have problems, you have to be careful who you get them from. You said you've used a Tiger Dynamite before and liked it, so why not stick with what you like?
 
I had been playing with Moori's for several years. Then I switched to Snipers and I have no plans of ever going back.
 
has there been some quality issues with moori tips recently. i have 'em on most of my shafts and love them. reciently i had one put on that seems to need more attention

I posted on your other thread "Mooris Glazing Over". If it just has to be a laminated tip, my choice would be the Everest, if it's a medium hit you're after. I certainly like the hit they provide. I've got mine scuffed down to just a little past half-tip. No problem with glazing and it holds shape well now that I've got the top half removed.
OTOH, I do not like the hit of the Sniper. It just feels too much like it's made of a hard rubber or something. No offense to the huge throng of players here that love them, but they are just not my "cup of tea".

I also was having problems w/ Moori's glazing over faster than I wanted, and tried the Hercules, Sniper, Everest, Tiger, and Kamui that you listed, as well as others. They were all decent tips, but the best IMO is the Sniper. The Everest is the same tip as the sniper with fewer thicker layers, and the Tiger is even fewer even thicker layers. The Kamui I had gave me similar glazing over problems as the Moori, and the Hercules I had felt a little to hard for my taste. I would either try a few and see what you like best, or go for the Sniper, and make sure someone who knows what they are doing intalls it.

Maybe that's why I'm not happy with the hit from the Sniper tip. I only took one layer off of it upon installation. I think I'll go and take several more layers off and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the tip (no pun intended :D ).
