Well, it wasn't easy. I had the pool table in my garage and decided I would really rather have a snooker table as I love snooker. I figured that I could always play pool on the snooker table as well. My daughter said she would buy the pool table so my wife said go for it. I found the snooker table for $900 and started restoring it. About a month later, my daughter had a stroke and decided not to buy the pool table. A few months went by while I tried to figure out what to do. Then my employer offered me a voluntary severance package. My boss basically told me that after my mandatory six months off, they would hire me back. I took the severance package and used some of the money and my time off to build another garage and turn the existing garage into square footage for the house. The original plan was to leave the pool table in the existing garage and put the snooker table out in the new garage. However, my wife's van quit working and I needed a commute vehicle that got better mileage than my F-150. My wife persistently steered us into a Corvette convertible. Now I needed a place to park the Corvette. Damn the luck. So both tables ended up in the new garage. I have to jack up a little or use a shorter cue than my 60" shooter for rail shots on both tables, but it's a small price to pay for having the best of both worlds. Having the snooker table now for about three months has really improved my ability and consistency. I love playing 8-ball or 9-ball with the big balls on the snooker table but it makes it tough to run racks, so I move to the pool table when I want to feel confident. Plus I get to play snooker whenever I want. It's so much fun it seems like it should be illegal. Add to that the fact that I love driving as much or more than playing pool and I feel like the luckiest/happiest guy on the planet sometimes.
