PRA (WNT governing body) suspends and investigates Kyle Amoroto for match fixing

I believe WNT pros are allowed to gamble like Shane vs Ghorst did. I think the limitation has to do with them side betting on their own "tournament" matches, either with their opponent or with the book.
Well, the Battle of the Bull tournament that is going on right now is a WNT ranking event. They had a calcutta and I’m sure most of the players are buying pieces of themselves, or other players. Apparently Matchroom has no issue with that.

first if you are going to make a statement to explain things in english have someone who can do it clearly and thought fully rather than a rambling nonsensical tirade.

second why haven't those that accepted his payoff been barred. they are more at fault than him. they dumped. and did he pay off them to lose or just ask them to lose. asking isnt doing anything illegal. but certainly not in the spirit of things.

did he lose himself and bet on the other guy? that is clearly the worst. and is dumping.
if the other guy lost and got paid he was the one dumping. and doing the worst thing.
and those he bet with what happened to them if it was against their rules.

it just isnt clear what happened.
Right, exactly. I sure hope MR's sanctioning wing had more info to go by than whatever Marboy's have said, before suspending him pending the conclusion of their investigation.

bookies dont break knee caps or use coercion to collect money as its a federal offense to do so. thats tv stuff. or mafia stuff from the 1950's

and they are very careful and dont take big bets on one on one sports. only on team and big field events. even then most limit your bet if the action is going one way. like on a horse race.

ok, but do all bets go through a bookie? They certainly don't here.

Maybe PRA newly formed still struggling get up to speed or they close one eye or had no idea what is calcutta probably tot the event will be in Kolkata /Calcutta
WNT events with calcutta may come under their spotlight as clause 2.1 of conduct regulations prohibit players betting

I believe there was another calcutta event 1-2 mths ago before Battle of the Bull
Of cos PRA can close one eye or make exception for calcutta since calcutta are quite transparent auction employed in other sports also

Calcuttas are quite common in the United States. One tricky aspect of them is that some of them require the player who has been purchased to take a minimum share (typically 25%) of him/herself.

In the end, there is no way to keep players from investing in themselves in a calcutta, as they can always ask a friend to buy them, with an arrangement to share the action. Matchroom probably knows of calcuttas and of the futility in trying to keep their players outside the process.

WNT can keep calculttas out of their own events if they so desire, but can never fully regulate them outside of WNT play. One problem is that it might offer a disincentive for an independent event producer to affiliate itself with Matchroom.

I am sure Matchroom will handle this issue with due care and sound strategy.

The tricky aspect of calcuttas is that they are probably illegal. Maybe not for players betting on themselves (game of skill), but for the non-players I can’t see how they aren’t illegal. But I am no lawyer.

some states they are legal and in many they look the other way. as it is gambling among themselves and not the general public.

dumping or fixing is one thing. gambling on matches is another,

tournaments don't pay enough to have the power to run a persons life and tell him what he can and cant do. outside his own games with them that he is getting paid during the play..
Sure they do. The world cup alone was 259K first prize. When you sign up for a league that pays that kind of money, you have to abide by the rules easy as that

These are separate things. The match fixing is an allegation at this point, for which there is an investigation. He is suspended during the investigation, but there is no decision yet. He could come out clean
I thought he was straight up dumped by Marboys, and suspended by MR for investigation?
You're right. So, he either annoyed one of the Marboys top dons, or wanted to fix a game by pressuring a younger player.
Popcorn ensues.
I standby my previous thoughts about fixing, and what the appropriate outcome for those who fix should be.

If you go by the bill of rights but leave the investigative strata to its own convenience, the outcome has a range of completely dirty to completely clean regardless of the actuality. I like fiction better.

Innocent until proven guilty right? That's all I'm saying. None of us have any concrete information.

it's probably two clicks away, but the video was long and hard to digest, not gonna rewatch that. iirc they claimed he bullied a younger marboys player (bernie) to fix a streamed match. but we don't know if there's other, personal stuff involved

Innocent until proven guilty is a court of law thing. And of course the PRA will do their due diligence. But Marboys already made their decision and made a video explaining their decision and rationale. The player he attempted to fix a match with came forward and said he had the messages that prove it. And I'm under the impression this public apology was actually from Kyle.

1- match fixing needs to be considered unacceptable by all.

b. A man should be able to bet on himself. Aside from fighting, knocking som silly balls around a table for $$$ has gotta be one one of the oldest was to prove Man.

I know of a guy who bet $40k on himself to win 9b world champion...and and FN won.
