Prayers or Positive Enegy Requested

I never in a million years thought I’d be writing a post like this, but here goes. Today, we experienced a major financial crisis. I’ve been going to school for going on two years. The government has paid for my supplies and tuition, and paid me the equivalent of weekly unemployment insurance while attending school. Today, out of the blue, we were informed that the weekly amount in lieu of unemployment has dried up. Apparently, there has been some kind of miscommunication between the government rep and myself. My tuition and books are paid for through December, when I’m supposed to graduate, but I now have nothing coming in to pay the bills except my wife’s disability and whatever we might make from occasional Ebay sales.
Surprisingly, I’m not panicking just yet, and feel that the situation may be resolved tomorrow, when we go talk to my One-Stop caseworker. With so little income, I hope I can qualify for some kind of assistance.
Anyway, I would deeply appreciate a prayer, if you pray. If you do not, positive energy in the form of a kind thought would be just as effective, I’m sure. This is what I tend to do myself, as I do not pray in what is normally thought of as prayer.
Again, I never thought I would be making a request like this here, but it was the first place I thought of.

Thanks,

Gary

I will send positive thoughts your way and pray for a speedy recovery.

Sometimes one door shuts, and another one opens! I hope what happens next will be good for you!

"no doubt the universe is unfolding exactly as it should" - thats an old quote from Bob Dylan. or Eldridge Cleaver - maybe it was Jerry Garcia. One of those famous philosophers

I try to keep that in mind when "s" word happens. Keep the faith - think positive - things will work out for you.
Before you guys jump all over me. I know it comes from the desiderata
good luck push out!

Dear Lord, Just Let Me Get Even And I'll Never Gamble Again :)

Pushout, I'm sorry that I'm unable to pray for you to get funding.
I play poker every day and I'm busy praying to God for funding for ME.
Doug
( I'm afraid that if I pray for us both, it just might be my prayer for YOU that get's through )

Edited to add: My wife said to tell you that she's praying for YOU....

Like JAM said man! Don't sweat it too much either. Maybe my story from the last 14 months will cheer you up. I lost my job in March of '06 for taking off work to go to a funeral on a Friday for a lady friend that my grandfather lived with. She accidentally shot herself in the middle of the night on the way to the front door thinking someone was breaking in on her. I was broke and had no medical insurance or income. I had been working in the medical field and had signed a Non-Compete which stated I could not work for any other company within 50 miles of my previous employers service range.

June 22 I had an accident which resulted in a double compound fracture of the L1 and L2 vertebrae. This REALLY HURT physically and financially. But luckily family chipped in and helped out.

Now, because of my previous A$$HOLE holding me to my non compete I now get my college education paid for. Not entirely but 2 years of it anyway. That is enough for me to complete my bachelor's anyway.

So, all is not lost!! Hang in there and you will get through it. Things always work out if they are meant to be.

My daughter went back to school recently to become a nurse, paid for through a Government loan. If she graduates and becomes a nurse, the whole loan is forgiven. What a great incentive this is for her. So far, she's getting all A's. She attends classes on campus as well as at home on the computer. She is in her thirties, a late bloomer, if you will, but I'm very proud of her, doing this all on her own. Of course, she knows she can't put the bite on me anymore. :D

I recently read an article about truck driving which caught my interest, a husband-and-wife team who drives cross-country. It is an excellent job for senior citizens, the article said. One must get a CDL license first. There is a shortage of truck drivers, and the pay is anywhere from $35,000 to $75,000 per annum. What a way to see the country. You can take turns driving with your mate while the other one sleeps.

I believe here in the United States, it is a land of opportunity, and with the power of positive thinking and prayers, I hope something changes for the better in your situation. Keep an open mind. Sometimes what looks like a challenge can turn into an opportunity!

Here is a poem that I found for you Gary. I hope things get better........................

--------------------------------------
Darkest hour is just before dawn

The sun is slowly sinkin'
The day's almost gone
Still darkness falls around us
And we must journey on

The sun is slowly sinkin'
The narrow way leads home
Lay down your soul at Jesus' feet
The darkest hour is just before dawn

Like a shepherd out on the mountain
A'watchin' the sheep down below
He's coming back to claim us
Will you be ready to go

The darkest hour is just before dawn
The narrow way leads home
Lay down your soul
Let Jesus in
The darkest hour is just before dawn
The darkest hour is just before dawn
--------------------------------------------------------
Best Wishes

Stay strong and keep the faith. Things have a way of working out. My prayers are with you.

Just remember...

and it has been said before..."that which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger".
I am living testament to that credo. A lot of trials and tribulations that look like a mountain through the windshield of life look like a molehill in the rear view mirror.
The best on ya!

Thanks for the kind words & thoughts. I've filled out a FAFSA {Federal Aid} form and am waiting for that to clear, in a few days. Most people I've talked to who have been in similar situations have come through ok. I probably won't have to sell my table, my cue, my paper pool/billiard collectables, my Christmas collection:)
We're trying to be optomistic!
Thanks again!

Thanks again!

Even if you DID have to sell some or all of that stuff...it's just that...THINGS!
Things can be replaced. Finishing your education should be your only priority.
Best of luck...
